Sampson Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Joey g was crap, I'm really wondering about some people bringing up names like Gudjonsson and Gunnerlaugsson. I mean, if mediocre players like that are your benchmark, where do you put players like Berner and Wasilewski, let alone Cambiasso or Kaamark?

I mean, if mediocre players like that are your benchmark, where do you put players like Berner and Wasilewski, let alone Cambiasso or Kaamark? I think Wasyl is brilliant. I do, but I just thought Joey G shone in that team of utter dross and his half way line goal was something I always remember. Another name we shouldn't overlook is Nalis. His worldie versus Leeds was one of the best goals I can remember whilst being a Leicester fan. Only bettered, in my opinion by THAT overhead kick by... MUZZY!!!

Who can name the opponent it was scored against?
melrose Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Never heard of him! You must have lost the faith during that period if you've never seen the mighty Fin play!
Robin JD Popley Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Do you not remember Gunlaugsson's worldie? Who can name the opponent it was scored against? If it's the one I'm thinking of mate - Villa. FA Cup. Great afternoon!
st albans fox Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 You must have lost the faith during that period if you've never seen the mighty Fin play! quite - once seen, never forgotten !
4everfox Posted 26 May 2015 Author Posted 26 May 2015 If it's the one I'm thinking of mate - Villa. FA Cup. Great afternoon! If it was a 25 yard screamer then that is the one, thanks for clearing that up its been bugging me.
Sampson Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Do you not remember Gunlaugsson's worldie? Who can name the opponent it was scored against? I remember him being pretty much largely slaughtered by the fanbase and him being largely considered a donkey (which he was). One goal does not make a player good.
bovril Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 If it was a 25 yard screamer then that is the one, thanks for clearing that up its been bugging me. Newcastle and Derby at home in 2000?
4everfox Posted 26 May 2015 Author Posted 26 May 2015 Newcastle and Derby at home in 2000? Derby at home sounds familiar, cheers. The whole of Filbert Street screamed at him to shoot and the rest is history. Great goal, great memory.
ashby_fox Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Danny Tiatto James wesolowski Steffen Freund Nolberto Solano
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 He was absolutely useless. Supposedly had to have a special pair of shorts manufactured for him! He was huge but could barely get off the ground. He had to wear Bob Hazels shorts
Wymsey Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Max Gradel - should have been given another chance, as apparently playing well for St Etienne.
4everfox Posted 27 May 2015 Author Posted 27 May 2015 Max Gradel - should have been given another chance, as apparently playing well for St Etienne. I always rated Gradel, how come he left in the first place? Did he have a fall out with Pearson?
cc_star Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Discounting Muzzy as he's not really Turkish... Pontus Kaamark by a mile If Kasper Schmeichel can continue his post-injury form, then he could go on to be a legend too
cc_star Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 I always rated Gradel, how come he left in the first place? Did he have a fall out with Pearson? No, Pearson didn't want him sold, Lee Hoos sold him anyway & to a then rival. No doubt one of the creasons Pearson & Hoos relationship was so bad

No doubt one of the creasons Pearson & Hoos relationship was so bad That's a real shame that is. Isn't Lee Hoos at Burnley now? If so that would explain their terrible transfer policy of spending, well, nothing.
MC Prussian Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 I always rated Gradel, how come he left in the first place? Did he have a fall out with Pearson? He handed in his own transfer request in 2010 - I suppose because he didn't get enough minutes at Leicester and because Leeds (with then-manager Simon Grayson) were keen on signing him on a permanent. For whatever reason, he either wasn't rated by Pearson at the time or didn't fit his strategy. EDIT: Just seen the Hoos reference above.
