foxfanazer Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Good to know you saw it all coming, Captain Hindsight. Bet you were wanking into your cocopops over Knocky about a year ago. His name will always remind me of a resurgent Leicester, and in many ways he was the embodiment of the new, exciting brand of football that saw us break into the play-offs and beyond. Things didn't work out for him last season but that doesn't mean I'll berate him for it. He always put in 100% and is responsible for some of the greatest moments the club have been a part of over the last couple of years. It's been a rollercoaster, Tony. Go well. Exactly this
South Shire Fox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Riot? We did perfectly fine without the overrated Anthony Knockaert; however for his 10-15 year old fanbase don't do anything drastic and start a #cutforknockaert campaign. Dont think you can call somebody overrated when your picture is of Patrick Bamford.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Balanced view is he was very good for us for 2 years, was a flair player with a seemingly fun personality so the fans really warmed to him, as did I. He didn't look great in his handful of chances for us, could argue he should of stepped up and grabbed the chance by the throat and didn't, could argue he should have had more chances to prove it. Fact is he's stagnated with us now and a change is the best for both parties, I think. Forever grateful for a really good players contribution, didn't work out, we all move on.
MPH Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 hes definitely at the stage of his career where he needs to be playing regularly to progress. ant begrudge him a move...

Injured at the start of the season. Man of the match v Villa. He just needed three games to get into it and we would have seen if he was right for the Premiershp. Unfortunately he didn't get the chance

Had a terrible game.
Rob1742 Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 He was injured, shouldn't have played but the manager asked him to play injured, as Albrighton was also injured.
Gary Eatfood Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 If he was that good he would of got playing time in the Premier League. Fans were banging on about having him over Schlupp & Albrighton, well they also talked a load of shit. Albrighton made a difference towards the end of the season, Schlupp won two end of season awards & was probably our most improved player. Why do we still need Knockaert, Pearson obviously saw sense & knew he wasn't good enough. Forget his tricks, Hatem Ben Arfa has all the tricks as well, yet like Knockaert he is overrated & also got released by his club. Knockaert had a good first season, in our promoted season apart from his two moments against Watford & Sheffield Wednesday he was bang average. Rightfully released in my opinion, we have better & will continue to do better without him. Well that simply wasn't the case seeing as we offered him a new deal.

I don't think I'll see two better goals from one player in the same match than Huddersfield away. The only other example I can think of that comes remotely close is Jeff Bruma in the 4-2 drubbing of Watford in 2011. Maybe Gally scored an impressive brace at some point? Either way; it's been a rollercoaster, Tony. Go well. cant fault this post. Those goals def in the top 5 ive ever seen at leicester.certainly one for originality. As im 56 my best before was andy peakes 40 yarder against liverpool. Good luck anthony.

Why do some people on here have to be so negative and derisary about players they take a dislike to. People moaned about alan young for it, but is there a need. Yes its an opinion but written with such vitriol.

Izzy Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 I was there the day Peake scored that goal. Still remember it like yesterday. Pen 3, Wednesday night, 26,000 packed in. 3-3 draw I remember. What a night and what a screamer. Nearly uprooted the net.

ScouseFox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Didn't look injured against Everton to me. Had a terrible game. wasn't he on crutches after the rotherham friendly about a week before?
Guest ttfn Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 wasn't he on crutches after the rotherham friendly about a week before? Exactly, he was a massive doubt for that game. Basically only played because him and Riyad were our only fit wingers. Jeff came on after about an hour for his first ever appearance for us on the left wing, ran fast, looked confused and blazed a shot wildly over the ball and never looked back.
blue army 1988 Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Don't worry he'll be at charlton on loan soon enough
eunmac Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Did he get a fair chance to prove himself in the prem? No Did we see other players with less ability in the team and on the bench? Yes Is he at the top of his game? Unlikely... He's only 23. Real shame seeing him leave. Thanks AK. You're a big reason we made it this far, and are a true blooded fox. Leicester is in your debt and I think most of us would like you to stay, but you deserve to be playing in front of a crowd. Good luck.
David Hankey Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 He did well for us in the Championship and after no figuring in our Premiership plans the day was always going to come where he would move on. A good player but not one of the greats.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Life has no meaning anymore.ThisI'm crying in my cornflakes as we speak But seriously good luck to the lad, tremendous talent
Burmesefox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 One of the most exciting players to have played for us in recent times. Personally, I would have given him another season but I don't have the insight on what he is like behind the scenes. At the players awards he had a big bust up with NP and I suspect that NP's patience wore thin. i can only imagine that if his attitude behind the scenes was better then he would have been given more time. I still don't think we have seen the best of Knocky.
Number 6 Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 The kind of player who makes watching football even more entertaining. Would have liked to have seen him get chances in drab affairs such as Sunlun, WBA and Hull at home as he was someone who always tried to unlock a defence, even if things didn't quite come off. Would have liked him to stay but appreciate and understand his decision to leave. Always welcome back and will always remember his time with us fondly.
PaulW Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Simply, thank you A.K. You bought a level flair, fun & skill that we hadn't seen in a Leicester team for a long time. You were player that other teams didn't understand. Come to think of it, you were a player that sometimes OUR players didn't understand! I wish you well in future career and your life. Again, - thank you.
