ktfox59 Posted 13 July 2015 Author Posted 13 July 2015 Morgan was our best player the first 10 games or so and was scapegoated for a fifteen match spell when every single player underperformed. Maybe because it's easy to point blame due to the own goals and call him a 'calamity'. When Huth came into the team he regained his form and towards the end of the season I thought he was the better defender out of the two. We will need another CB but one for the squad not to replace Wes imo.point made earlier, but a little strong to say better of two imho of course
weller54 Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Morgan was outstanding in the Championship but took a long time to settle in the PL. He might continue to improve but he is no spring chicken. For me, he needed Huth alongside him to be effective. I don't think a player who struggled should be captain either. Spot on analysis!

But surely that takes time, you can't just bin off 9 players and buy 9 new ones. It doesn't really work. Granted Southampton did a pretty good job last season after a large overhaul but generally it's not a model that works. The squad is pretty thin as it is so only additions for me.

As for Upson unless the OP knows something I thought he had gone or will when his contract is soon up? Wes is one I expect to go or take a back seat and praps vardy too. I see him wanting more from a striker than just running.

The squad is pretty thin as it is so only additions for me. yep am listening, but if we have a 25 man squad to go with and we add up what we have so far its not so far away. So take away dead wood and theres room for 3 or 4 new ones he wants in. Then look to our match day squad of 18 and it starts to get tough. Lets change tack and go strikers. With another addition there, one or two will be looking and thinking i wonder when im going to get a game

Shame for Vardy as Pearson really utilised him well - perhaps a bid from Villa / WBA may be enough to persuade the board.

He will want an experienced side and not risk young players. Is he really known for blooding young players.

I see us now trying to play more football than on the break stuff. Just hope the squad can do it and we are not loaded for on the break football. Time will tell.

ramboacdc Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 I doubt anyone will be leaving unless someone comes in with a decent offer and then they'd have to match their PL wages so who from the PL do you think will want the players you think aren't good enough or the right type for Ranieri. watford will be gasping for defenders!
