ktfox59 Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 So welcome to the KP Claudio With every new manager, there almost always brings a new shake up of philosophy of how he likes the game to be played. Formations, style etc.So with this sadly, casualties in the player retention, players who dont fit into his model. Who do people think are the players closest to the exit door in this respect. And who do u think he will be keen to keep of the squad. For me. Going. Wes, konch, simpson, upson drinky, hammond vards nuge.hamer. Keen to keep. Kasper. Huth Fuchs EC, Mahrez Albrighton Krammy King, Okazaki wont be gone for obv reasons. Thoughts?
Ozwin Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Wes Morgan, especially as he's not even with the squad right now. It's an untimely absence for him but could ultimately mean we bring in a top class central defender, which would be soup.
AKCJ Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 De Laet, Morgan and one of Schlupp, Albrighton and Mahrez.
ktfox59 Posted 13 July 2015 Author Posted 13 July 2015 De Laet, Morgan and one of Schlupp, Albrighton and Mahrez.mahrez strikes me as a player that could thrive and improve further under CR, and a player of all that could be a jewel in the new regimes crown.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Why are people saying Morgan might be at risk? Explain...
ktfox59 Posted 13 July 2015 Author Posted 13 July 2015 Morgan back to Forest!?i totally agree and destination. Have to say that wes improved tenfold beside huth but i think his position and place will be replaced by quality. His 1st priority signing
benpicko Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Morgan was one of our best players at the beginning of the season and again during our run at the end, so unless he's as woeful again as he was during that run where everybody was woeful, I hope he doesn't go
davieG Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 I doubt anyone will be leaving unless someone comes in with a decent offer and then they'd have to match their PL wages so who from the PL do you think will want the players you think aren't good enough or the right type for Ranieri.
ktfox59 Posted 13 July 2015 Author Posted 13 July 2015 Why are people saying Morgan might be at risk? Explain... simply because he doesnt seem to be and look a quality prem cb. Have nothing against him. Would imagine CR would think far better out there
Brooksy Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 mahrez strikes me as a player that could thrive and improve further under CR, and a player of all that could be a jewel in the new regimes crown. Agreed, think he'll be a starter under CR. I reckon Morgan, Vardy, Nugent and hopefully Simpson.
Dan Gliballs Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Why Morgan? He was a solid CB for us last season despite a few hiccups. He put his body on the line on plenty an occasion and (IMO) proved himself to be a decent lower level prem defender.
EnderbyFox Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 i totally agree and destination. Have to say that wes improved tenfold beside huth but i think his position and place will be replaced by quality. His 1st priority signing Disagree, surely his first priority will be a CM?
Wymsey Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Morgan, Drinkwater, Konchesky - Morgan - inconsistent, Drinkwater - inconsistent, Konchesky - should've left ages ago. Maybe even King - as he may be the most loyal player to us, Ranieri would prefer someone with more 'proven' experience at top-flight level.
Big_Nige Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 i totally agree and destination. Have to say that wes improved tenfold beside huth but i think his position and place will be replaced by quality. His 1st priority signing Surely priority signing is a midfielder. We only have 3 fit for the start of the season. Yes Wes is a position we can look to 'upgrade' but some people on hear make out he's Nicos Dabizas at times. The guy went though a bad patch when the whole team were under performing. He started the season well and ended the season well. Can we do better, eventually yes but it'll hardly be panic stations if we don't sign a capable replacement this season.
Kent Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 I think you're naturally going to get less of a bias towards domestic players with a foreign manager. So we're probably going to see less of what on the face of it looks like a "tight knit" majority-English squad and more foreign names instead. This isn't negative but if you think back to Sven we had Yakubu, Kamara, Van Aanholt, Vitor, Ricardo (ha) etc so I wouldn't be surprised if there is little or no English bias when it comes to recruitment. Doesn't equal failure though.
ktfox59 Posted 13 July 2015 Author Posted 13 July 2015 I doubt anyone will be leaving unless someone comes in with a decent offer and then they'd have to match their PL wages so who from the PL do you think will want the players you think aren't good enough or the right type for Ranieri.i agree davie but unless he agreed for said reasons to retain squad without many additions i guess there has to be some v difficult decisions madeMaybe i should have asked who wont be getting as much game time.
Strokes Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Kin ell, no room for sentiment in here. Our most successful captain since walshy and its in bin, bye. Wankers the lot of ya.
Deucalion Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Morgan was outstanding in the Championship but took a long time to settle in the PL. He might continue to improve but he is no spring chicken. For me, he needed Huth alongside him to be effective. I don't think a player who struggled should be captain either.
shailen Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Morgan was our best player the first 10 games or so and was scapegoated for a fifteen match spell when every single player underperformed. Maybe because it's easy to point blame due to the own goals and call him a 'calamity'. When Huth came into the team he regained his form and towards the end of the season I thought he was the better defender out of the two. We will need another CB but one for the squad not to replace Wes imo.

Or why hire CR?

Spiritwalker Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 I doubt anyone other than fringe players like Konch or Simpson will be let go.
