  1. 1. Do you give Ranieri your backing?

  2. 2. Do you wish Nigel success?

    • Yes
    • I [don't] really want him to fail (unless he takes over Forest) but I can't fathom why anybody would want to see another team do well just because their manager used to manage Leicester
    • No
  3. 3. Are you happy with Ranieri's appointment?

I guess the question to be asked is...

Is our new manager an upgrade on our previous manager?

Obviously its too early to tell and with NPs record CR will certainly have big shoes to fill. But, his record is outstanding.

Fingers crossed that CR can take us another step up the ladder!

I still felt the last question was too binary. I'm more meh, about the appointment. Wasn't my ideal choice but hopefully he can supplement the squad with some additional quality. Really surprised he got a 3 year deal.

We were going places with NP, we survived relegation and this is the season we should have kicked on.

We may still progress with Ranieri but to me it feels like last season doesnt count anymore and we are in for another scrap.

I hope Im wrong (as I am all of the time) but i feel we are on the back foot now. With Pearson we knew what we were getting but now there is uncertainty (for me).

I am looking forward to whether Claudio can sign some real quality players though.

Yes

Not too bothered

Yes

Other than Klopp I could put ticks in the against column for everyone we were linked with.

I'm glad we've got a new manager and i'm 100% behind him and the club but the Sven experience has left me nervous.

Feel like I need to clarify my voting for not backing the manager.

I guess I kind of see that statement differently to others. If by backing you mean continue to support lcfc no matter who is in charge? Then yes of course I still support the Foxes. blue blood through and through.

If rather, you mean do I think he is the right man for the job? Then my previous comments from yesterday apply.

I am not saying no I don't back the manager at all, I just want to hear from him and hear his plans before I decide that this is the guy to take us forward. I will always support city though, the club is bigger than one man, apart from Nige of course. :)

I think you're the only one who's read it as I intended, that's why I had to add the 3rd question to clarify.  I didn't realise everyone would think backing the manager and backing the team are one and the same lol

Think about this logically, Pearson's next job is likely to be with someone at the bottom end of the Premier League or the top half of the Championship.

If he does well with that team then logically they will probably become rivals to us at some point and potentially improve at our expense.

So as harsh as it sounds, I dont wish him the best as it might come back to haunt us.

Pearson brought some old fashioned standards back to the club, honest hard work and determination. He drove out those that didn't subscribe to his ways, and he molded a team who were greater than the sum of their parts. I will always look back fondly on his tenure at our club, in the way i did MON. I wish him every success, but in the same way my admiration for all things MON dissipated over the years then i guess they will for NP too, and depending where he goes next i guess that could be sooner rather than later.

I would have preferred the 3rd option to have a 3rd option e.g. Yes, Yes (but would still rather NP was here if we had a choice), No.

Stop right there.

I wanted it to be as black and white as possible.  If you'll take it you'll take it - I think 90% of this board would still rather Nigel was around, but now that he's gone are you pleased with the choice of replacement?  This whole thing's basically an exercise in posterity because you just know that, in the same way as has happened with King Nigel, accusations about wanting/not wanting Ranieri in will start flying around down the line (whether or not he's a success, the arguments will just be made with a different nuance depending on the outcome), so I thought it wise to get everyone's hearts on their sleeves now.

It's too early too really say what will happen either way, we have to wait and see, but first instincts are important and now we have a record of our fans' ones.

Just a question..Have we now settled it once and for all..??

Settle as in make it clear where each individual stands.

I'm gonna leave the whole explaining the meaning of the poll thing there because I've come back to it a couple of times already and really think it should be clear by now.  If anyone else is confused they can read the thread back over to see my explanation, if they still don't get it I'm not going to lose any sleep over it - they'll probably have wound up in a cemetary from drinking that delicious looking blue stuff under the sink this time next year, so the purpose of this poll to give us something to refer back to in the future doesn't apply to them anyway.

How about option undecided on the last one. Or just "Meh".

Reasonable enough suggestion, I'll get right on it.

Sorted, now yes, yes and undecided.

I always back the club and the team no matter what. Every new manager automatically gets my backing until it becomes clear to me they're a liability so Ranieri will get my backing but I'm undecided whether it's a good appointment or not. I'll wait and see his selections, formations and tactics before I make any judgements. More importantly, I'll wait and see who is in control of transfers. If it's the board with no input, knowledge or agreement from Ranieri then he's already starting the job with one hand tied behind his back and I'd have a great deal more sympathy for him.

Yes, yes, and we'll find out by Christmas

Just like last season? Football's a funny game...

IT would be stupid not to back him. Hopefully he'll find his feet in the premier league rather quickly. I think most fans just want a bit of consistency with the results. Not sure my heart can handle another miserable middle period of the league at bottom.
