I think it's Alexei that runs the Foxestalk League which will need renewing again. Anyone who was in the league last year get automatically entered again when they sign back in.

The 3 boosts are going to be interesting this season.

Judging by the FAQ 'Chips' section, the Wildcard is still there. Only one 'chip' can be used each gameweek though, so you can't use your wildcard the same week as a Bench Boost, for instance,

Edit: And scrolling down the same page, there's a 'Wildcard' section... Looks like same rules apply as always.

Have the wildcards been removed for the new boosters?

Yep wildcard still there.

Although it says in the 'Rules' section that:

The All Out Attack, Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips can each be used once a season and are played when saving your team on the my team page. They can be cancelled at anytime before the Gameweek deadline.

As opposed to once per week?

Yeah, so once a season, but you can't use more than one (incl. wildcard) in a single gameweek.

One wildcard in the first half of the season, and a second in the second half.

Think I ended up about 120th in the Leicester ranking, around 3000 overall. About the first time I actually checked my team after 5 gameweeks.

EDIT: That actually sounds wrong, will have to check it.

First time playing this FF league - any tips from anybody re team selection?

Don't just go for big names; the differentials (high scoring low ownership players) make all the difference - Schlupp could be a good one depending on how ranieri decides to play, since he's classed as a defender he gets double points for any attacking contributions.

Due to the £100m cap, you can't obviously buy all the top players (and you don't need to, anyway) - spread the money accordingly, take previous seasons into account and snap up one or two new players to the Premier League or key players from a newly-promoted team; they tend to be available for the cheap.

Also, try to imagine in what system/formation the players could be featuring for their clubs; Liverpool will have an overabundance of strikers, so you may not want to go for a Reds forward, as they all are likely to take points off each other.

You don't need to sign expensive goalkeepers - use some of the funds you save there to buy another quality player in defense, midfield or attack instead.

Think of changing your team captain (double the points tally on matchdays) on a regular basis, if need be.

Good, attacking defenders with a knack for scoring from open play or defenders that are good at headers in the opposing box will net you a lot of points (especially if they can keep a clean sheet).

And don't be shy to replace big names with lesser-known players in case the former can't deliver.

In terms of budgeting...

GKs/Defenders vary very little in price. The highest valued defender is Terry/Ivanovic at 7.0, but most defenders are 5/5.5. Contrast this with Strikers where the difference between 'top' (Aguero at 13) and 'good' choices (Vardy/Ulloa/Okazaki/Kramaric at 6.0). As a result, when building your team it's a good idea to get the best defenders you want and budget a little on midfielders and strikers. Picking Schlupp instead of Terry won't save you as much as picking Diouf instead of Costa, for instance.

In terms of who to pick...

For defenders, I always try and pick CBs who score goals as well as clean sheets, so players like Terry are good picks. Mostly though I go for full backs. They get just as many points for a clean sheet, but generally speaking they're more likely to weigh in with assists. Using this tactic got me into the top 25 for the Championship one a few years ago, because Trippier was an absolute beast.

Strikers who are the star player in not-so-good teams are great value for money. Austin was immense last year, and I'd wager that Deeney will do similarly (albeit perhaps not *quite* as well).

It's worth looking for players who don't play in the 'correct' position, too. Schlupp is a defender in the fantasy league, but for quite a bit of last season he was playing further up the pitch as a LWB or LW. He still gets all the points from clean sheets, but is a lot more likely to score points at the other end too.

Oh, and look at a team's upcoming fixtures.

You won't really be wanting any Leicester player's over the christmas period as we've got a horror fixture list, so not likely to pick up many points. Whereas early on in the season the fixture list is relatively kind, so we may do alright.

This ties in with the changing your captain regularly tip MC Prussian suggested above. If Aguero for instance is playing away at Chelsea while you've got Sanchez at home to Bournemouth, you'll want to make sure your captaincy goes to Alexis.

Oh, and during the season watch out for the occasional double gameweek. If a match gets rearranged you sometimes end up with two teams playing twice in one week, or none at all. It's a good idea to set your captain as someone playing in both games, for obvious reasons.

One massive tip (that I can't do myself) is limit your weekly changes, cost -4 per extra change. I tend to average 50-60 per season, top players use only 20-30. That's about 100 odd points per season.
