LCFC manager top ten rankings

Haha you'd genuinely have Adams over Pearson, what an odd creature you are

Adams inherited a total and complete shambles and won promotion from the championship on a shoestring in one attempt.

Pearson inherited a squad that should never have been relegated and got us promoted from league one in one attempt, then got us promoted to the premier league in a combined three and a half years benefiting from unprecedented levels of investment.

Not much between them, but yes I think Adam's achievement is the more impressive.

I know the last 10 games or so went pear shaped for Sven, but I am pretty sure that his first 23 games yielded 46 points. Also he had win ratio pushing 50% until the last couple of months. I know he spent some dosh, but the early games were good.

MON did very well, never my favourite manager because I thought he was a bit of a drama queen at the end. When the crowd held up the "Please don't go Martin" banners, thought it was a bit cringeworthy. Better just to sing hos name the whole match. He would of got the message. Also thought he didn't give any credit to Steve Walford or his support team, as opposed to NP.

I liked Bloomfield, Wallace and Little, but as a manager in the true sense of the word, Nigel Pearson for me.

In my time

MoN (Actually won stuff)

Pearson (who I felt could've gone on to be better than MoN, & some of the football was sexy as hell)

Little (turned us around on a shoestring & later subsequent successes were as a result of that)

McGhee (I liked some of the football, 3-1 away win Bramell Lane a particular highlight)

Adams

...

...

...

And 3 worthless sacks of shit

Sven

Sousa

Holloway

I'd forgotten all about McGhee. I'm getting old and my memory is fading but vaguely remember watching us away at West Brom under him and playing some brilliant football.

From my liftetime.

1. MON

2. Pearson

3. Little

The rest have been pretty much shite, Adams deserves some credit for taking the club back up in admin but he did have players like Walker, Elliott, Deane, Dickov and Izzet etc in the second tier.

I remember liking Micky Adams. It was during my 'pissed years' so I can't remember why. But I liked him anyway

Unprecedented investment?

lol, after Sven he had to cut, cut, cut dealing with low value transfers and frees. His net spending was something less than £5m in all that time & on a many times reduced wage bill.

It's not that often individuals buy-in to team ethic in that way and going the extra mile for each other & manager is quite rare

Adams inherited a relegated side & couldn't add to it, but many were PL players anyway, so finishing 2nd was a good achievement, but pretty much a par for a team that retains most of their players.

That win away at Derby! Two higher quality goals in one game I can't remember us scoring.

Knockaert's two at Huddersfield?

Second was an OG. I know it hurts, but it's true.

Loved the variety in the Derby goals. Yakubu's extraordinary individual effort and that erotic team goal. False dawn though sadly.

Another thread to lick Pearsons arse. Brilliant.

In spite of the guy who created the topic being one of his most noted critics on here in the past few months...

O'Neill,

Bloomfield,

Milne,

Pearson,

Wallace,

Adams.

In my time supporting Leicester City I could not put NP above Milne or Bloomfield. I don't understand how anyone could. If he had consolidated us for even one more year then maybe.

When someone puts Adams above Pearson and that is then the main debate, you know what way it is going..

Outrageous how can out leave out the man that got us to the top of the prem . bring back peter Taylor lmao

I reckon Gillies also had us top or very close to the top of the First Division and competing seriously for a league and FA Cup double until the dream was scuppered by injuries and an all-to-small squad. For me his achievements would rank him as our best manager. But memory fades....

Bang on with the O Neill comment, fantastic manager for us but always found it hard to warm to him as opposed to Pearson, Little and Adams. He always had an air of moral superiority about him and was usually quick to rake up the time he got booed at the Sheff utd defeat, even years after it happened. Cloughie once said he'll never be as good as he thinks he is. Probably the best manager we've had having said that, but grudgingly.

Mark McGee, for Steve Corica, Scott Taylor and I think Frank Rolling. Even Kalac ended up playing for AC Milan....

Bloody hell, Steve Corica. Only played a handful of games for us I think but remember him being the dogs bollux.

Unprecedented? Taylor spent £25 million in transfer fees alone, Sven was throwing around bids of £8 and 9 million for SPL strikers on the back of getting Mills for £5 million, Beckford for £3 million.

Why do people keep replying to this guy? He's the biggest troll I've ever seen on here, the stuff he writes is so ridiculous you have to wonder how he even manages to type.

Taylor wasn't in the championship.

Pearson benefited from some of sven's signings, Kaspar, nugent et al. Players the likes of Adams and Little couldn't have dreamed of signing.

Coming from a guy who has made up rumours to try and discredit the owners that doesn't mean much.
