RoboFox Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Our very own Kasper Schmeichel's save nominated as one of UEFA's 10 best this season... Albeit for Denmark, not City. http://www.uefa.com/save-of-the-season/videoid=2263935.html
Fox92 Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Standard. It wasn't that good. I see at least one of them saves each weekend. His save at Burnley away was better.
shen Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Was the England friendly last season? He made some stonking saves in that one
thursday_next Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 It's hard to work out how he could have possibly not saved that, other than dive out of the way, and he really didn't have time to do that.
ealingfox Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Save of the season His surname really does work wonders for him.
TOMBlcfc Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Do the nominations have to be either in international games or in europe?
foxfanazer Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 The saves against Swansea and Burnley are far better stops
StanSP Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Glad he was nominated but as has been said the stop against Burnley was better. Going the wrong way, wrong-footed and still clawed it to safety.
foz.foz Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Glad he was nominated but as has been said the stop against Burnley was better. Going the wrong way, wrong-footed and still clawed it to safety. was that the one in kop end during the title season?
JerryLundegaard Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 I've got to disagree I think it's a fantastic save. I think the pace the header comes in at means he has only a tiny window to react as well as get enough strength in his arms to parry it away. Having said that I do think ter Stegen's was the best!
Mark_w Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 was that the one in kop end during the title season? Pretty sure he's referring to the one at Turf Moor last season.
StanSP Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Pretty sure he's referring to the one at Turf Moor last season.Yep where Huth (?) diverted it goalwards but Kasper clawed it back.
foxfanazer Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Yep where Huth (?) diverted it goalwards but Kasper clawed it back.De Laet I think
Hollism Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 De Laet I think I remember it as RDL as well. Cracking save
Spence Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Isn't the UEFA bit showing its in European club games or international (european) games... Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick? An extremely good save he makes it look easy in slow motion, the speed and strength he had to show in his arms was incredible.
Goober Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 I remember it as RDL as well. Cracking save De Laet missed the header, it deflected off Huth
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Header was a straight at him! Would expect 9 out of 10 keepers to save that one. Will be a good confidence booster for Kasper though.
Fox Ulike Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Header was a straight at him! Would expect 9 out of 10 keepers to save that one. Will be a good confidence booster for Kasper though. It wasn't straight at him, it was slightly to his left. So he still had to react to a powerful header from 6 yards out. Look at his positioning and footwork before the ball gets to the number 9. He's anticipated exactly where the ball was going to go, then pulled off a brilliant reaction save. Its not the best save on the list, but it's better than Hart's (which was straight at his chest), and Boyko's (which did just hit his flayling arm.
shailen Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 It was an absolute world class save. With the power on the header and the time he has to react, he has done well to tip that over. Not sure why anyone would say otherwise.
