copunk Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Never read such bulls**t in all my life p, embarrassing
McFoxy Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 We had an applause to show appreciation for the owners and Nigel has done much more for the club than them. Are you mental? Did Nige put his hand in his pocket and write of loads of debt? did he relay the pitch or put up the big screen? Nige did his job and was paid for it. I was always behind the man, but to say he did more for the club than the people that have consistently backed and improved the club is a joke. Plus Nige backed himself into a corner. Get over it and move on
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Can see this causing arguments in the ground
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 This is gonna turn into a Anti Nige v pro Nige thread
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 can't we all just take our ostriches with us? Wearing ostrich suits en masse is actually a much better idea
ramboacdc Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Wearing ostrich suits en masse is actually a much better idea know anywhere with 28,000 suits in stock that can deliver for 9am tomorrow?
foreverfan Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 This is surely a bad idea. I'm sorry he's gone but not everyone feels the same so wouldn't join in. It would just be embarrassing. Keep them for remembering someone who has passed away
Voll Blau Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 We had an applause to show appreciation for the owners and Nigel has done much more for the club than them. Yep, we shouldn't have appaluded them either. Guess that's the precedent now. What a joke.

What about the 72nd minute for Cilla Liverpool will be doing one no doubt.
McFoxy Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 What about the 72nd minute for Cilla Now that would be a surprise
AndWhat? Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Almost feels like these things are organised just so the person who organised it can say 'I made this happen' rather than being actually meaningful
MONreborn Posted 7 August 2015 Author Posted 7 August 2015 He built a team that has earnt us just short of 200million quid in TV money. Exactly. If the owners got an applause nigel definitely deserves one. Like I said earlier, if you dont like it simply dont join in!
Voll Blau Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 He built a team that has earnt us just short of 200million quid in TV money. Liverpool will be doing one no doubt. Stoke have beaten them to it... http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-fans-asked-join-9796794 Exactly. If the owners got an applause nigel definitely deserves one. Like I said earlier, if you dont like it simply dont join in! Why is that the precedent? It wasn't deserved in the slightest. No-one's fvcking died!
daddylonglegs Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Can we have a minutes applause in appreciation for minutes applauses? now thats something i'll sign up to
inckley fox Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 I don't like the idea, though I appreciate the sentiment behind it. I'm just not sure that seven minutes into the reign of the new manager is the right time to honour the old manager! But the whole 'move on' thing is starting to get very boring. Fans never move on, do they? We haven't stopped banging on about Gillies, Bloomfield, Little or O'Neill and all they did for the club, and neither should we. And plenty of people saying 'move on' now were defending Sven's good name, or that of Beckford or Bamba, for a lot longer than two months. So not 'moving on' from Pearson, especially when most of the side, most of the coaching staff and the fact that we'll be playing PL opposition all have a great deal to do with him, seems quite understandable. You can't disrespect the past and hope to have much of a future. But, equally, I'm not sure it's wise to let the past get in the way of the future.
McFoxy Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 He built a team that has earnt us just short of 200million quid in TV money. Which was after all his job. He wouldn't have done it without the owners that's for sure And i am absolutely certain a portion of that £200 million ended up in his pocket as bonuses. He didn't float down on angelic wings, save the club and do it for nothing. He was one of the better managers we have had in the last 30 years, but to give him saint status is frankly taking it a little far

If you cast your mind back we were a couple of kicks from the play off final before Top and Vichai had set foot in Leicester with a squad that cost virtually nothing.
justfoxes Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Cant we just forget the Pearson thing hes gone lets move on whether you agree or not, he did a great thing for us we dont know what went on behind closed but its all change at the KP the owners could no longer work with Pearson for some reason or another!! That chapter has closed MOVE ON things are looking good for Leicester lets sit back and enjoy the ride !!
fleckneymike Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Should we pause half way through the 7th minute applause to acknowledge the season where he ****ed off to Hull? Or break the rhythm towards the end to symbolise that day he got sacked and then unsacked?

I know that some people would go as far say saying Nigel achieved all he did inspite of the owners rather than despite. Im certain we would have been promoted much earlier if he hadnt been forced out of the club first time round. Anyway that is the past! All we want to do is commemerate the past 7 years with a minutes applause. If the owners got one, nigel will surely get one!
