Fox92 Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 I absolutely love Nige, still do, but nah I'm alright thanks. This is our managers first game in charge ffs.
SpacedX Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Perhaps it's James Pearson that should be getting the clap.
McFoxy Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Exactly. I know that some people would go as far say saying Nigel achieved all he did inspite of the owners rather than despite. Im certain we would have been promoted much earlier if he hadnt been forced out of the club first time round. Anyway that is the past! All we want to do is commemerate the past 7 years with a minutes applause. If the owners got one, nigel will surely get one! It's not "for sure" at all. If you cast your mind back we were a couple of kicks from the play off final before Top and Vichai had set foot in Leicester with a squad that cost virtually nothing. Nearly, but no cigar. Mickey Adams got us promoted in administration. By your rationale, he was a far better manager. Lets have an applause for him too!!
daddylonglegs Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Fair to say this is not the reaction the OP was looking for
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 know anywhere with 28,000 suits in stock that can deliver for 9am tomorrow?www.ostrichsuits4u.com Did you really need to ask?
Babylon Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Was i being too subtle No I was just improving it for you.
Babylon Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Perhaps we can have a minutes applause for the dark shadowy figure who was apparently signing the players and picking the team when we were winning.
goose2010 Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 what a bizarre binary world you live in, where you can only like one or the other, instead of supporting the current boss, while showing appreciation for the old one who got us here. Oh & the idea was the applause does draw the line under it & everyone moves on Did I say that you can only support one man at a time? why don't we do a 13th minute applause for Knockaert for the amount of goals he scored? its the same situation we move on as a club and support the manager in charge I would rather sing CR's name for 7 minutes that applaud someone who has left the club. Its a pathetic idea and I cringe worthy the past is the past.
davieG Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Perhaps we can have a minutes applause for the dark shadowy figure who was apparently signing the players and picking the team when we were winning. Thank you but I'm not really sure i deserve it.
stripeyfox Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 The whole minutes applause thing is frankly ridiculous in most cases. Remember, we only started having minutes applause because football crowds couldn't manage to keep quiet for a minute when honouring someone with a minutes silence (the seemingly large number of people being unable to grasp the concept of "the minutes silence will begin and end on the referee's whistle") Then they started to creep in during games because a former player has cancer or died years ago. Now we are expected to applaud a supporter who died, or the owners for spending money, or a former manager. Even when these things happen, there is always difficulty in getting everybody to understand what is going on - who is being applauded and why. Unless it is supported by the club then there is zero chance of gaining enough support for it. Even if everyone on FT thought it was a great idea, that still represents a fairly small proportion of the crowd in the stadium. It's not a case of being pro or anti Pearson. He was the manager, and now he isn't. Honouring him in this way is not appropriate. If he returns as manager of another club then he will be warmly welcomed I should think before getting down to business. Should we have a minutes applause for Cambiasso as well - to recognise his contribution?
EnglishOxide Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 I absolutely love Nige, still do, but nah I'm alright thanks. This is our managers first game in charge ffs. I doubt Ranieri will mind, know or even give a shit. In fact he will probably be impressed with it.
Babylon Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Thank you but I'm not really sure i deserve it. A round of applause for Davie G for services to common sense in football, now I'd clap that.
goose2010 Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 We had an applause to show appreciation for the owners and Nigel has done much more for the club than them. you really think that? he is was a great manager for us, but come on these owners have done wonders for our club. You don't know what happened for them to sack him he could of left them no option for all we know.
SpacedX Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 The King is dead. Long live the King. No way...I was hoping he'd start alongside Drinky or Kante tomorrow.
Foreverfox Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 know anywhere with 28,000 suits in stock that can deliver for 9am tomorrow? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inflatable-Ostrich-fancy-Costume-Unisex/dp/B00AG3W0CW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438945539&sr=8-1&keywords=ostrich+suit 11 in Stock here. Not 28,000 but 11 represents the starting line up! Better than nothing and next day delivery is available if you order before 2! Much better than 7th minute applause.
Mark_w Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 you really think that? he is was a great manager for us, but come on these owners have done wonders for our club. You don't know what happened for them to sack him he could of left them no option for all we know. It's nothing to do with the decision to sack him. I think our current status has more to do with Nigel than the owners. If we had average owners for a club our size then Nigel Pearson still could have taken us up (given that he cut costs to do it and didn't spend a vast amount while in the Championship). An average manager for a club our size with these owners and I think we'd still be in the Championship. When it comes to sport I value talent higher than money.
Dan Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 I say this as a massive Pearson fan - no. These applauses have lost all meaning now. Overdone.
Danizen Posted 7 August 2015 Posted 7 August 2015 Give him a cheer if he comes back with another club but this is pointless. He will neither know nor care if we applaud him or call him a ****. Let's just sing, cheer and clap for the players and staff we HAVE got and hopefully eke an extra 5% out of them towards a win.
