Just booked tickets for Sean Paul at Republic next Sunday. £10 for some decent tunes ain't a bad price at all. Should be a good night.

Also, my mates off to Manc Met Uni in September and wants me to come up one night, so if anyone has some tips at decent nights out up in Manchester (looking at you Fox92!) it would be much appreciated :)

I used to always get knockbacks frm nightclubs, think it was a blessing in disguise i would be 29 getting asked for ID or told im to drunk, you can't win a argument with a Doorman so i would just walk away.

If i went to Passion, or Godskitchen i would always book on the guestlist. Never went to Gatecrasher just couldn't be arsed getting knocked back by a doorman.

A tip to youngsters though its not so bad today because as long as you have ID they can't knock you back but i used to get friendly with a bird in the cue and tell her let me act as you boyfriend and i will buy you a few drinks. for some reason doorman didn't like embarrassing a guy in front of his bird

Haha I think I might still have my membership card in an old wallet. For saying how many nutters were in there it was actually very peaceful. I only noticed one bit of trouble over a few year period.

Jimmy Dean's that was the one, I'd forgot the name. The Continental was next to The Lamb pub, just down the back through that archway. Last time I went Ashby was after Leeds away Boxing Day and I was too drunk to remember to check if it's still there or not. Was in The Lamb aswell that night.

When we went there it was always a Sunday night but always had someone who was driving so never had the taxi problem. Don't think many folk had a mobile phone back then so if you missed a taxi it would have been a long drunk walk home.

I think The Continental is now known as Manhattan's. I used to go in there lots as a teenager when it was Arty's.

Love Ashby for a night out, its local, I nearly always bump into someone I was at school with and the people are much more civilised than in Coalville

Nightclub memory

End of the night slowies. All the smooth dudes have bagged a dance.

I'm sitting on a stool, everything spinning, staring down at my black suede shoes trying to work out which piece of crap has puked up all over them and slowly realising that it was me.

Good times.

Northern Quater in Manchester is very smart. Lots of bars, some are relatively well priced as well. Dry Bar is a personal favourite of mine, along with Black Dog Ballroom, which is open until about 4 if I remember correctly.

I don't anymore in London, I got tired of bouncers actually making me feel guilty for wanting to go and spend money in their business. Plus the money it costs these days. It's a shame as I love a good 80's night.

Northern Quater, like Scouse mentioned, is very good. It can be expensive as a student though. Same applies to Deansgate. The typical cheap student places are the winners for me. Plenty of places off Oxford Road such as 5th ave and Factory. I liked these places in particular because they are cheap and girls in there seem up for it etc.

He'll enjoy his years there, Manchester is a brilliant City.

Went out for first time in a while for my 23rd birthday, got thrown out of Yates for having my trousers down, then proceeded to not get into 6 Other places. Finally got into basement where I thought it would be a good idea to light a cigarette indoors. Probably haven't been that bad in two or three years. Maybe even never

I went out Thursday night to a nightclub for the first time in months too. Being 23, I feel like everybody else is younger.
