True. Drinkwater would have been my MOTM had he at least hit the target with that chance apart from that faultless. Mahrez MOTM. Shinji what a player! King and Vardy also had great games.

Schmeichel 6 - mentalist.

De Laet 5 - got run ragged in the second half but little support to be fair.

Huth 7.5 - solid

Morgan 8 - top display from Big Wes today

Schlupp 7 - offered little going forward but actually looked pretty solid defensively which is not something I ever thought I'd say

Mahrez 8.5 - seems to routinely beat his man these days

Drinkwater 8 - playing like 2013/14.

King 8 - everywhere.

Albrighton 6 - Thought it was his poorest game for a while but still contributed.

Okazaki 8.5 MOTM - absolute warrior of a player, got a goal but really if he doesn't score between now and the end of the season it won't matter because he brings so much else. Faded in the second half.

Vardy 7.5 - looked knackered at the end after giving his all but played well.

Subs:

Kante 7 - did what he needed to do well

Benalouane 6.5 - as above but gave away a stupid free kick 2 mins from the end.

Fuchs 5 - wasn't impressed at all, but I'm sure he'll come good.

Don't see what Fuchs did to deserve a four. Looked fine, didn't do much wrong, put a block in, didn't have a lot to do.

Opinions are like arseholes finners.

Edit: have revised to 5 due to overwhelming pressure from the mods.

Don't get me wrong, he wasn't amazing, I'd have given him a "not on long enough to get a rating" but the panning is harsh. Especially given he came on as a winger with a few minutes left and us under siege.

No panning. 4 is "poor" not "terrible" or "I'd rather have had Ryan McGivern come off the bench".

Anyway as I say I have reflected on your constructive feedback (and also the pressure from the mods).

Schmeicel   7...brilliant save in the 2nd half to keep us ahead

De Laet   7....solid ...considering he did not have much cover in front of him

Huth   7     ...solid...although his heading was a bit wayward at times

Morgan  8  ...looks so much more confident than early last season

Schlupp  7....agree with above... good defensively, but not a threat going forward..looked like a proper left back !

Albrighton  6...gave his all,but nothing seemed to work today..frustrating day

King  7   .... very tidy performance didnt see him give the ball away once

Drinkwater 7...  looking like the player we saw in th Championship

Mahrez  6... took his chance v well but ...should have passed sooner several times and defending was non existent for their goal !

Okazaki   8 ...terrific first half, good close control and seems to turn the oppositions centre backs at will

Vardy  7   ...made some good  runs, particuarly late on when looking exhausted he still ran the ball into the corner

Fuchs 6 ...hard to judge on limited time...but looked out of position in midfield

Benaloune  6...not a lot to do..needless booking ...but hoofed the ball out when it was needed

Kante    8...v impressed with his tackling and close control...although gave the ball away needlessly late on in the W Ham box

Spot on with Mahrez. He doesn't defend.

Kasper 8 Great save from close range late on

De Laet 5 Thought he was skinned a fair few times and wasn't surprised to see him go off

Huth 8 Won everything in the air and defended superbly

Morgan 8 As above

Schlupp 7 Very good again

Mahrez 9 A special player. Don't care that he doesn't defend, he's bloody fantastic

Drinkwater 9 MOTM. Strength off the ball, good passing, should have scored. Bossed it

King 8 Tidy performance

Albrighton 6 Assist aside it was his poorest game in a long time. Never stopped though

Okazaki 8 Great touch, strong, hard working. Delighted he got his goal

Vardy 8 So much running, lovely assist. He's fantastic

Kante was also great when he came on. Don't know who he should replace, but I think he'll be a regular soon.

You can't be serious about Mahrez

Posted

Kasper, De Laet, Benny and Fuchs - 6

Okazaki, King, Mahrez - 8

The rest a 7

Okazaki MOTM

Claudio - 8 2 out of 3 subs spot on. Okazaki looked knackered and we needed an extra body in midfield. RDL was getting a pasting switching Albrighton to the right and bringing on Benny secured that side.

Fuchs for Mahrez was the wrong call left Vardy isolated and chasing shadows with no support. Fuchs did little as left wing, if he was going to come on he should have dropped him to left back and pushed Schlupp forwards. I would have brought Ulloa on to just hold the ball up and give a better target for either Vardy, who had run himself into the ground, or Mahrez.

Really like the look of Kante, he's going to have fight his way into the team though King and Drinky have both stepped up.

Special mentions for Okazaki, Vardy, Huth, Drinky and Mahrez. Also very impressed with Schlupp - solid, steady and composed, which are not 3 words you usually associate with him.

Agreed on Schluppers, he's been greaso far, very responsible.
