MPH Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 When you look at all six signings we have made Huth, Fuchs, Okazaki, Kante , benalouene and inler, I can't help but be impressed. It could be argued that every one of them are a sizesble improvement on what we already had . And Quite frankly having DD back to his best feels like a new signing too. I'm starting to think a top ten finish is very possible now!
Freesolo Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Well we have some real depth now, just a bit weak at the back but still Prem standard. My prediction for Player of the year is Okazaki. And a top ten finish would not be super surprising but i still think about staying up every game until we are safe
Rincewind Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 At least we have got Inter out theway. Cant wait for the transfer window to close so the rumours can die down. Which player have we not 'alledgedly' been interested in. There must be a thread for every rumoured player.
GLC Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 The quality we've brought in is impressive! they all seem to fit our style as well!

MPH Posted 19 August 2015 Author Posted 19 August 2015 My prediction for Player of the year is Okazaki Must admit, I wondered why we signed him at one stage- I even thought he might of been a replacement for vardy. I didn't think they could work together and thought they'd cash in on vardys risen profile... Shinji has completely won me over already
Captain... Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Huth and Okazaki have already shown their quality. The jury is still out on the rest, Kante looks a very good player, but looked a little lost on Saturday, ran around and got stuck in, but it did look like he wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing. Benny looks committed but a bit reckless. Fuchs hasn't done much in his limited game time Inler hasn't kicked a ball for us yet. Good signings on paper, but there have been plenty of players signed for the prem that look good on paper, but don't perform for whatever reason, the biggest reason to be positive is that the players from last season are playing with the same intensity and desire that saw us stay up and as you said DD stepping up is starting to look like a new signing.
Rincewind Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Not bad for us. Other years we were on tenterhooks about the signing of Trevor Benjamin and Junior Lewis.
fox123 Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Certainly has been impressive! Can see a 'keeper coming in too at some point during the window.

adam95581 Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 One of the major plus points about this transfer window is that we haven't had clubs sniffing around our best players - people have half heartedly sniffed around Vardy but the owners whacked a £15m price tag on his head and quickly ended that interest. The fact is, we have owners who aren't looking to make a quick buck and therefore we're not a 'selling club' whose players are there for the taking. Long may this continue!

Shinji has completely won me over already He is smart, makes clever runs , Quick, nevers turns off and has a amazing work ethic on top of that seems to fit in really well, i don't think we have seen the best of him yet. That goal against WH was class even if i would give 50% of it to Vardy for that sick pass. If them two start to glue together with Mahrez it will be exciting times

Exception being Simpson, I'd let any club that wants him have him
ARM1968 Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 They do. Great signings on the whole although Benni looks a bit of a liability.

I'm starting to think a top ten finish is very possible now! Huth - no brainer, we all seen what he could do last season. Fuchs - Not totally convinced but he has good pedigree. I'm glad Schlupp is ahead of him so he can continue to develop and he was free and an upgrade on Konchesky. Maybe if he doesn't get a regular game we'll sell him in a year and promote Chilwell as Schlupp's understudy? Okazaki - Looks a great team player and proven goalscorer at international and Bundisliga level. Inler - A massive struggle to get him but proven quality Kante - Another massive struggle to convince him to come but like Inler we aimed above our level and got him. I have really high expectations of him. Benalouane - I've never been convinced by him at all and he's not a right back. Still dubious this won't be a poor buy for us but you have to give the man a chance.
Fox92 Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 It's gone from the worst summer in recent seasons to the best transfer window I can remember.
vicfarm7 Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 I think another positive is that the new signings have struggled to get a first team starting position. Shows the quality we have in depth and how players like drinky and king have upped their game to compete. Exciting times
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 I am very happy with the signings but had already placed bets with mates about us finishing top ten. Got £100 on it. I don't think we are finished in the transfer market though, I think there is another centre back coming in and also another striker. I am not in the know but think if we are playing 2 strikers each game then we would probably want 5 and not 4. I don't know about the centre back but I would like to see one more come in and then we are totally done for now.
MPH Posted 19 August 2015 Author Posted 19 August 2015 It's gone from the worst summer in recent seasons to the best transfer window I can remember. It needed to be too. Sacking Nigel upset a few people... People needed convincing everything was going to be ok. I'm convinced!

I just think ranieri is being wise. With so many new signings, you'd totally upset the balance of the team to throw them all in from the get go...
Bablemikey Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Too early to tell about the others, and Huth is carrying on from his loan, but Okazaki is the only one who has hit the ground running IMO. Fuchs and Benelouane in particular will need to improve significantly. However, the core of our squad equally took some time to acclimatise to this league last season so we perhaps should not expect too much too soon.
adam95581 Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Exception being Simpson, I'd let any club that wants him have him Yeah - I kinda meant that we haven't lost any player that we didn't want to lose.

Have to agree with this, think Fuchs, Benaloune, Kante and Inler will need a little bedding in time, PL isn't anything like their previous clubs respected leagues. Okazaki's energy levels and evidently obvious ability show he can adapt immediately, he was outstanding at Upton Park last week, equally against Sunderland in the first match. Think we would be too premature having the jury out on any of the other boys as yet
