DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 The carnage caused by this tragic accident, looks pretty grim. My heart goes out to the relatives of the dead, and may the lost victims, rest in peace.
StanSP Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Saw a picture this morning as the plane impacted at ground level. Put it in a spoiler in case people are a bit disturbed by it. Tragic and apparently the pilot is fighting for his life. RIP to those that lost theirs.
Fox92 Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Absolutely awful. Sure it will be a while before a report is concluded. How the pilot actually got out is incredible.

Tragic and apparently the pilot is fighting for his life. RIP to those that lost theirs. RIP to all those that have died first of all. Couple of young Worthing footballer have been named amongst the dead this morning. Without sounding morbid or like I'm enjoying this, that's an amazing photo. Considering the person taking it could hardly have expected that to happen, what they've captured is astonishing.
Larry_LCFC Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 It's truly awful. Hope it turns out to be a mechanical failure rather than a stupid pilot error. Might just make it slightly more bearable for the people involved.

BoneDog Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 What an awful accident. It couldn't have crashed in a worse place. Fields all around. There is a video here of the aftermath. Seems distasteful to me, you'd think they'd be dashing around trying to see if anyone needed help or something. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=213_1440261898#comment_page=11 Without sounding morbid or like I'm enjoying this, that's an amazing photo. There was lots of traffic stopped at temporary lights and roadworks I think. This is from another angle just before the jet crashed. Horrible picture.
Freesolo Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 RIP and all that but that is a great shot. Wow What??

I did wonder if it was a still from a dash cam, but usually you can only see what's directly out the front windscreen on them. That picture seemed to clear. Haven't watch the video, not sure I want to, but with the amount of fire I'm not sure people without fire fighting equipment would be much help.

Yes I thought the camera angle looked a bit off for a dashcam. I suppose they could have had their camera phone rolling, or ready to take a photo, because people were stuck in traffic and the plane was on show. I don't think the video shows bodies or injured people (watched it last night and didn't notice any), the place looks like a war zone though. It's a shocking scene.

With this incident it crashes after a stunt which could suggest the pilot maybe blacked out?

Someone talking to BBC news said he thought it looked wrong as he started the loop because there wasn't enough height. That would suggest a pilot error, but you never know.
RowlattsFox Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Watched the air show in Blackpool a couple of weeks ago and they did all the stunts over the sea. Such a sad accident, amazing that the pilot has a chance of surviving. If he does pull through he will feel incredible guilt.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 August 2015 Author Posted 23 August 2015 Dreadful. An ex Airline Pilot and RAF pilot, and very experienced in this type of thing. Who knows yet if it was pilot error or an aircraft problem? Simply horrific!
stripeyfox Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Terrible. The shear randomness of it is horrifying. There you are, sat in the car with your kids and an event, totally out of your control occurs which wipes you out. Fcking hell. Eleven believed to be dead so far, but could rise. From what I understand, very few, if any bodies have been recovered but the death toll is determined from missing people reports. Two footballers from Worthing FC are thought to be among the dead, aged 23
Jon the Hat Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Feels very close to home. If it hadn't been so hot yesterday we would have gone to the show.
cambridgefox Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 How on earth did the Pilot survive that?i said that to my wife earlier.
foxfanazer Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 these events really need to be done over the seaNot sure if you're joking..........
Jattdogg Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 these events really need to be done over the sea I dont see why they cant do them in nonpopulated or extremely low populated areas.
Guest MattP Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Absolutely horrific watching it, mortality never ceases to shock, just driving one minute and then you're nothing seconds later. Awful.
Jon the Hat Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 these events really need to be done over the sea If you look at the a map, or satellite pic, you will see the airfield, a road, then a load of fields. Extremely unlucky to hit the road I would say. Also there are hundreds of such events every year, and actually very few accidents, and in most cases those sadly kill the pilot, but no one else. Very very rare occurrence, and you cant ban everything just because there is risk involved or life would be very dull.
cambridgefox Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Absolutely horrific watching it, mortality never ceases to shock, just driving one minute and then you're nothing seconds later. Awful. You would just hope the deceased died from the impact, very sad indeed..Witnessed a crash at Mildenhall when I was a kid but nothing on this tragic scale.
