AKCJ Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 The biggest plus for me is that we've lost no-one too. Retaining Vardy, Mahrez, Schlupp etc has been very important imo. Erm... player of the season?
sylofox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Been a pretty good window especially when you consider we got £7m for Wood and Nugent; both big profits on what we paid for them and for Nugent especially £4m for a 31 year old dropping down a league is an impressive bit of business. Funny how the window has coincided with probably the most insane summer in our history though: - Simpson convicted of assault but spared jail and remains unused by the club - three useless under 21 players (including the managers son!) rent prostitues on the club's goodwill tour of the owners home country, film it themselves and share it with friends and eventually the entire world, managing to insult the entire race the owners belong to in the process. - the players immediately suspended then sacked after investigation. Radio silence follows for a few weeks. - completely out of the blue, the club sack the manager who guided to the Premier League then ensured we stayed there in the greatest PL escape of all time.... For no apparent reason. - two weeks then follow in which we are strongly linked to everyone from Jurgen Klopp, Martin O'Neill and Guus Hiddink to Neil Lennon, Steve Cotterill and the manager of a 3rd tier American team that no-one has ever heard of and who has since disappeared without a trace (whatever happened to Preki?!) - We appoint Claudio Ranieri to the shock and of everyone and dismay of many - a predictions come around and 95% of pundits strongly tip us for relegation - opening fixture and we thrash a fairly dismal Sunderland team but the spirit around the club and City is very high - Jamie Vardy finds himself in a racism scandal broken by a newspaper that has acquired the footage dubiously and is caught using the same racial slur repeatedly. Debates ensue as to whether it was racist or not in the first place. The club fines him. - Leicester City are top of the Premier League three Saturdays in a row!! And Vardy playing for his country is not even worth a mention? or the fact he has been picked in the next squad.
filbertstreet Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Erm... player of the season? cambiasswho?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 imagine if he had stayed, the midfield possibilities
urban.spaceman Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 And Vardy playing for his country is not even worth a mention? or the fact he has been picked in the next squad. I was mainly mentioning the more negative things cos I'm a cynical bugger
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 We didn't really lose him though he was out of contract. But obviously is a loss to the team so I'll just be a hypocrite ta.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Do we all agree this has been our best ever transfer window in recent memory? We have signed some real quality in the likes of Shinji and Kante combined with the experience of Huth, Inler and Fuchs. Dyer and Benalouane have potential.. I think we cant be mad with the business we have done this window, and want to say its the best business we have done in a very long time, possibly ever. In recent memory, I believe it is. A strong squad.
Jace Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 and didnt lose any key players , we still appeared to havemissed targets (eg carillo) Esteban Cambiasso?
Sharpe's Fox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 the loss of Nige makes it the worst transfer window ever imo
Buzzell Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 The biggest plus for me is that we've lost no-one too. Retaining Vardy, Mahrez, Schlupp etc has been very important imo. Without a shadow of a doubt. Especially retaining Mahrez on a 4 year contract. Best bit of business from the club this summer.
ScouseFox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 incomings yeah probably. outgoings might be missed when the going gets tough but we'll see. maybe it will never get tough.
MONreborn Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 the loss of Nige makes it the worst transfer window ever imo Without joking I do think it's a shame we lost nige. We will now never know what the possibilities may have been. A real shame and the transfer window would probably have been even better if we didn't have the managerial upheaval. I hope we don't remember back and think, what if? Years down the line
Wymsey Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Is Pearson still going to take the club to court, over unfair dismissal?
MONreborn Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 Is Pearson still going to take the club to court, over unfair dismissal? The fact he has yet to give a statement suggests this may be the case, and good on him
Livid Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 The fact he has yet to give a statement suggests this may be the case, and good on him Am I missing something? He's under contract, the club terminate his contract, the club pay up on the remainder of his contract ?
Sir Fynwy Posted 3 September 2015 Posted 3 September 2015 The fact he has yet to give a statement suggests this may be the case, and good on him He's said nothing because he will risk his final payout if he goes to the press, he did plenty of good things for us but he was difficult to deal with and eventually the owners decided they couldn't work with him. NP won't try for unfair dismissal because A) He wasn't unfairly dismissed; B) He wants another job and C) He'll lose a stack of money.
Guest Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 Think we missed the boat a bit on the right back front. De Laet not good enough and Simpson is even worse.
ARM1968 Posted 4 September 2015 Posted 4 September 2015 On paper yes. In reality we will know at the end of the season.
