foxes21 Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Do we all agree this has been our best ever transfer window in recent memory? We have signed some real quality in the likes of Shinji and Kante combined with the experience of Huth, Inler and Fuchs. Dyer and Benalouane have potential.. I think we cant be mad with the business we have done this window, and want to say its the best business we have done in a very long time, possibly ever.
gerrytaggart Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Yes we all agree except for the next poster bellow who is a total arsehole.
Babylon Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Tell you at the end of the season. I remember a few years back where pundits and fans alike proclaimed that Norwich "won the transfer window"... they promptly got relegated.
foxes21 Posted 2 September 2015 Author Posted 2 September 2015 Yeah i meant on paper it looks like the best window we have had.
dpjfox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 and didnt lose any key players , we still appeared to havemissed targets (eg carillo)
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 It's pretty hard not to think this is the best in recent memory, we were almost a different club a few years ago.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Tell you at the end of the season. I remember a few years back where pundits and fans alike proclaimed that Norwich "won the transfer window"... they promptly got relegated. Was that the window when they signed that Dutch bloke? Van Wolfswinkel? What an utter flop he's been.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 The biggest plus for me is that we've lost no-one too. Retaining Vardy, Mahrez, Schlupp etc has been very important imo.
foxes21 Posted 2 September 2015 Author Posted 2 September 2015 and didnt lose any key players , we still appeared to havemissed targets (eg carillo) Yes this has been important too. You see teams like Southampton and Villa selling their best players.. So glad we are able to keep hold of ours. We have great stability in that regard.
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 We did lose our player of the year....................... good otherwise.
foxes21 Posted 2 September 2015 Author Posted 2 September 2015 Completely forgot about Esteban! But I think thats testament to the signings and replacements we have brought in!
urban.spaceman Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Been a pretty good window especially when you consider we got £7m for Wood and Nugent; both big profits on what we paid for them and for Nugent especially £4m for a 31 year old dropping down a league is an impressive bit of business. Funny how the window has coincided with probably the most insane summer in our history though: - Simpson convicted of assault but spared jail and remains unused by the club - three useless under 21 players (including the managers son!) rent prostitues on the club's goodwill tour of the owners home country, film it themselves and share it with friends and eventually the entire world, managing to insult the entire race the owners belong to in the process. - the players immediately suspended then sacked after investigation. Radio silence follows for a few weeks. - completely out of the blue, the club sack the manager who guided to the Premier League then ensured we stayed there in the greatest PL escape of all time.... For no apparent reason. - two weeks then follow in which we are strongly linked to everyone from Jurgen Klopp, Martin O'Neill and Guus Hiddink to Neil Lennon, Steve Cotterill and the manager of a 3rd tier American team that no-one has ever heard of and who has since disappeared without a trace (whatever happened to Preki?!) - We appoint Claudio Ranieri to the shock and of everyone and dismay of many - a predictions come around and 95% of pundits strongly tip us for relegation - opening fixture and we thrash a fairly dismal Sunderland team but the spirit around the club and City is very high - Jamie Vardy finds himself in a racism scandal broken by a newspaper that has acquired the footage dubiously and is caught using the same racial slur repeatedly. Debates ensue as to whether it was racist or not in the first place. The club fines him. - Leicester City are top of the Premier League three Saturdays in a row!!
ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Got to be very happy with the summer as a whole. All the players we have signed are good enough to prove they are better than what we had already got and I would expect to see some of them getting PL starts over the next month or so. We kept hold of our best players and our weak links from last season, Konchesky and Nugent, have both been moved on. Confident we won't be in any sort of relegation trouble this season.
Guest Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Think it's been a great transfer window. Sorry to lose Nugent but the rest who went not at all. Shame we didn't get rid of Simpson too though. When is the end of loan possibilities?
Socks Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Been OK nothing amazing, needed a RB though, hopefully in January
Basingstoke Fox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Tell you at the end of the season. I remember a few years back where pundits and fans alike proclaimed that Norwich "won the transfer window"... they promptly got relegated. Same with Hull City last season.
Kitchandro Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 On paper yes. But so many of our great signings have had little to no hype.
surrifox Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 all indications are that we had plenty more transfer funds available given the failed bids as the deadline approached - presumably CR will have access to these in January if we require shoring up

Dan Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 It's been very good on paper, but time to see if it's going to actually be made to work.
AKCJ Posted 2 September 2015 Posted 2 September 2015 Way too early to say considering only two (Shinji and Kante?) new signings have made Premier League starts and we've lost last season's player of the season. But it certainly looks like it might be.
