BigMicky Posted 25 September 2015 Posted 25 September 2015 Bollocks, these people who would suddenly start using the clappers can **** off for all I care. It's probably convenient for them as they can still follow the ball around the pitch all game like the sad twats they are then go home and say what a noise we made. Hahahah here he is super fan/ ultra whatever you want to call yourself. You are not reinventing the wheel. What's this about following a ball around all game? What a plank.
Soup Posted 25 September 2015 Posted 25 September 2015 Yeah plank, that's me.I support my team I don't watch them.
BigMicky Posted 25 September 2015 Posted 25 September 2015 Yeah plank, that's me.I support my team I don't watch them. Says it all, if you like signing so much join a choir.
SantiagoFox Posted 25 September 2015 Posted 25 September 2015 Take one, rip it up for arrival of team. simples.
DB11 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 other clubs that we need clappers to create our own noise at home games, it was good last season but using them for every home game this season just doesn't seem right Doesn't seem right that it allows people to make a louder and more impressive atmosphere than without, which the players have suggested spurs them on and produces the results we've been seeing? You care too much about what others think.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Says it all, if you like signing so much join a choir. Oh dear. No. Try again. Is that how it goes when you can't think of anything else? Contradicted yourself there. "If it helps us drown out the home team" Yet when it comes to people singing their hearts out like soup you suggest they join a choir, good one mate.
Footballwipe Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 When I opened this thread and saw it was up to three pages I did assume this bigmicky chap had come in here aggressively defending them. Yawn
davieG Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 When I opened this thread I knew it would be full of people getting in a Tiss about what other fans think of them. I really don't see the problem they're just a modern version of the old wooden clackers that plenty of fans had up to the early 60s if you don't like them don't use them if that turns out to be the majority who would undoubtedly be singing non stop then the opposition fans won't notice them and your credibility will be safe.
Fox42 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I really like them tbh and I'd go as far as to say they saved our bacon last season, but I think it'll be a waste to use them on the road as it won't carry the same vibe as it does at our patch. It should stay at our fortress.

Exxxxactly. Well said, I completely agree.

Wow you make stuff up, can you tell me where I said any of that about drowning out the home team?? I'm about the 3 points sweet cheeks, its all that matters. As for folk going and not watching the game, give it to someone that loves to watch the team and isn't there for a jolly instead.

MHFox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I go home & away and we already make a lot of noise wherever we go - our 'pure sound' does not need to be enhanced or spoiled (depending on your viewpoint) by gimmicks!

Define gimmicks, are not tifos and flares etc gimmicks that are intended to enhance the atmosphere according to many that seemingly hate the clappers. People of different ages etc have different needs so why do people feel the need to deny and look down on those that like and use the clappers.

Listen to yourself, you're claiming that people who make a noise should give it up in favour of them who don't want to commit 100%?
brisfox Posted 26 September 2015 Author Posted 26 September 2015 Here is my view. When we go away , our aim is to make as much noise as possible to support our team and hopefully demoralise the home fans so much that they stop supporting and even start criticising their players. At our place, those clackers (love em or hate them) do make a big difference to the level of noise in the ground. I don't think anybody will deny they have had a positive impact. It seems common sense to see if it works away as well as home. I know some purists see it as a gimmick but at the end of the day if it helps the team win, so what? If the club give them out, if you don't like them then don't use them .

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 Hoping we don't have them at away's. I'm only just coming to terms to the fact we have them at home games. It would be good for the club to listen to the fans views on this.
