AmyLGK Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Oh but Vardy's 2nd goal was amazing - such a cheeky (and skilful) bugger! LOVE EM!
cityfanlee23 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 That was clear as day, 2 blatant fouls before Arsenal's second goal. Pawson was awful today, the game could have been very different with a better referee - thought Bellerin was offside on the second goal also. Interesting that MOTD didn't bother showing our penalty shout either. EDIT - Just read City fan Lee's post - has anyone said our defending was good? It wasn't, but it doesn't help when incompetent refs miss clear fouls like the ones on Vardy and Okazaki. The defender grabs Vardy's legs. If you think the Kante tackle was a penalty, you need your eyes testing, the replay showed he clearly won the ball. Rewatch it. Okazaki was running ACROSS the back running defender. And vardy toppled over the defender after he had been clean tackled. Funny how pundits don't even question it... or the commentators.. just Leicester fans? You need your eyes testing not me. Kante went in from behind caught the ball and pushed the man over. Theirs was a penalty more than okazaki and vardy should have had a free kick.
BigMicky Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Wonder how many are still complaining about the ref?? Our goal was the result of a break in which we should have CONCEDED a penalty from Kante's challenge... The okazaki incident was actually his fault as he ran across the arsenal player, Vardy was tackled fair and square before toppling over the defender. Cheers to the 4/5 idiots that ripped me to shreds in the match thread when I said there was nothing in it and it was our own defending that was the issue. Okazaki MAYBE should have had a penalty but he had lost control of the ball and ran directly at the defender and not around him and get cut off. Frustrating day but some of our fans are ridiculous. ???? Kante clearly won the ball, you need a bigger telly. The other two are contentious.

If you think the Kante tackle was a penalty, you need your eyes testing, the replay showed he clearly won the ball. The reason for the defending post, is because our fans were concentrating more on the refs alleged "mistake" instead of the fact they still had to counter us and put the ball away, TWICE. Our defending was the real issue, not the bloody ref. I got crucified by biased Leicester fans as usual. I prefer to use common sense to watch football, Okazaki CROSSED OVER THE DEFENDER, no wonder they caught feet. Vardy was tackled fairly and came over the top out of possession after losing the ball. Simple.
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Kante won the ball first. Never a penalty.
BigMicky Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Rewatch it. Okazaki was running ACROSS the back running defender. And vardy toppled over the defender after he had been clean tackled. Robin JD Popley Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Have noted the title of said thread but I still think our defending was all over the place for most of their goals. The answer is right in front of us, I hope Claudio does what NP never did and drop some of his 'established' back line. Our biggest weakness.
cityfanlee23 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 ???? Kante clearly won the ball, you need a bigger telly. The other two are contentious. He won the ball I agree, I said that, But I meant in a heat of the moment thing, the ref was more likely to give a penalty in that situation that give us a free kick for our calls because ours were blatantly not fouls. The fact Kante came from behind the player into the challenge and knocked him down in the process made it look controversial at the time. So Kante won the ball and then played the man??? Yes, read post above. Apologies for not wording my first statement correctly....
Babylon Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 It's cityfanlee... Best to just ignore him.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Thought the whole team looked knackered just after half time. I think having to turn up the tempo when down these last weeks finally came to haunt us. Schlupp running back for their third goal ( I think) was just jogging. Mahrez is fast. It could not get past anybody. People keep saying that possession is underated but Arsenal showed what can be done with it then attack. We work too hard. Need to control the game better. Need to try new back line against Norwich. Current 4 need a rest and some extra work on the training ground. Hugth who is usually solid has not showed upthis season yet in my opinion. We will come back stronger because of this result and eexperience.

Nah still not having it. Okazaki was tripped before vardy was challenged. It took a possible pass out of the game. The counter then left us with only 9 men. Poor refereeing. As for the okazaki penalty. He nut megs the guy and goes to run round him, only to be completely constricted by the defender. Stonewall pen. Both incidents completely changed the dimension of the game.

The penalty shout was neither here not there, he tried to run through him not round him. It's cityfanlee... Best to just ignore him. You have a reputation for people ignoring you, maybe you're my idol....
orangecity23 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 http://lasthighlight.com/leicester-city-vs-arsenal-highlights-and-full-match/ 33.57 first half video. Arsenal defender wins the ball, then grabs Vardy with his left arm to trip him over.

Foxhateram Posted 26 September 2015 Author Posted 26 September 2015 Okazaki RAN ACROSS THE DEFENDER RUNNING BACK. The trip was okazaki running across the player how the hell can you miss that?!?!?!?!? The penalty shout was neither here not there, he tried to run through him not round him. You have a reputation for people ignoring you, maybe you're my idol.... The replay on the stream I watched clearly showed the defender stick his foot out. It was a 'professional' foul of the highest order. You are missing the fact in your 'they still needed to counter to score' argument that two players got taken completely out of the game. Yes the challenge on Vardy was fair, but the grapple after took him out of the game. Considering he tracked back down that wing to help out de leat quite a bit today, I think that is a huge injustice to us by the ref. As for your view on the pen shout. Again the replay I saw, the defender stepped across his path, that's a foul. Therefore a penalty.
cityfanlee23 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 http://lasthighlight.com/leicester-city-vs-arsenal-highlights-and-full-match/ 33.57 first half video. Arsenal defender wins the ball, then grabs Vardy with his left arm to trip him over. Note how okazaki RUNS ACROSS THE DEFENDER. NO FREE KICK. And at no point does the defender "GRAB" vardy, He won the ball in the slide, then hit vardy. On that basis kante should have conceded a penalty. My points exactly, what happened to vardy was no worse than kante a second before, and okazaki was in no way a free kick before hand, he ran across the defender.

The grapple off the ball is a foul as well. In fact off the ball challenges should lead to a red if you want to follow the rule book.

Funny, what's he doing with his left arm here then?
cityfanlee23 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Your wrong. You're Deluded! You can clearly see he was running across the defender from his right to his left, and you can clealy see the defender won the ball fair and square and at no point "grabs" vardy. He even took a knee to the face for his troubles. Okazaki at fault for tripping, Great challenge from the defender on vardy to win the ball, just unfortunate his momentum took vardy down, You don't cry like this when vardy hacks people every week? and defend Kante doing practically the same thing (winning the ball then taking the man) Absolutely incredible, even in denial with a full highlight of it. Funny, what's he doing with his left arm here then? You can "grab" with your arm....? I really dont think he's in control of his body in that position do you? Clutching at straws.

Mate someone has just posted a screen shot yo prove you wrong and you ate still arguing a dead point. The bloke grappled vardy to the floor. You are watching a different highlight to rest of us? If someone runs across a defender and they stick their foot out, it's a free kick. Kante clearly doesn't grapple their player to the ground like the highlight of yhe vardy incident shows. So yet again you are wrong.
Lord Nibblington Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 http://lasthighlight.com/leicester-city-vs-arsenal-highlights-and-full-match/ 33.57 first half video. Arsenal defender wins the ball, then grabs Vardy with his left arm to trip him over. Do you not find it interesting that watching when it first plays through that Vardy himself, who, lets be honest, is hardly shy about appealing for a foul and express his displeasure and not being given one just gets up afterwards and offers no reaction?

Secondly his arms are up and wrapped around vardy's leg, he did everything he could there to bring vardy down. I think he is in full control and to attempt to say otherwise is clutching at straws.

Jimothy Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Guys there's no point in arguing with cityfanlee, what you need to learn is he's always right and you're always wrongs and he'll use capitals to prove his point of how stupid you are, just to cement it. Capital letters clearly trump photographic evidence too.
