Ian S Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Soundly thrashed, and nothing more than we deserved. Arsenal were head and shoulders above us. That last goal, 2 goals down in injury time and leaving ourselves open at the back like we had a chance of equalising. Mahrez has to stop trying to beat every team on his own. Not sure that is a particularly accurate description of the 90 minutes I just watched, beaten by a better team with more quality but soundly thrashed?
bovril Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Schlupp and Mahrez were very poor today One of the worst games I've seen Schlupp have. Morgan was also crap. Huth the only one that came out with a smidgen of credit. Tinker time?
Lord Nibblington Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Fuming. They won that 2-3 as far as i'm concerned, still a loss, but i'm not having Arsenal be flatted by 2-5 after that, although after hearing reports of their 3rd being offside aswell, maybe it was 2-2 as far as i'm concerned, i'll reserve judgement and say they won 2-3 until i've seen a replay though. I'm not one to blame the referee or officials as many people know, it's a pet hate of mine but today they are at fault, they were a disgrace, the linesman is one of the worst i've ever seen, Arsenal must have been offside atleast 3, 4 maybe even 5 times, 2 of them led to 2 goals, 3 if reports of the 3rd are correct. There was a foul on Okazaki and Vardy leading to their 2nd. Bleeding joke. We didn't play bad and I don't think the defence were at fault for much really, if todays game was played by the rules it would have been a totally different game. The loss doesn't sit well with me, it's a horrible feeling but to know it's mainly the officials fault makes it even worse. And for me of all people to pin it on the officials, they must have been bad. 3rd wasn't offside. Jeff was a yard or 2 behind the rest of the back 4 and playing him on. Vardy really wasn't fouled. If a foul on Okazaki was given, it'd be a bit soft. And I think everyone would've gone nuts considering Vardy was 1 on 1 with a defender and trying to run past him. I really don't think you say it was the officials fault we lost. They were much, much better than us second half.
Merging Cultures Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 What a game, i have loved this match **** the score, bound to lose every now and then, the way we played is exactly how I want us to play, couldn't do much about the goals could have been 5-5 if they didn't have Cech. As for kasper, he'll get an assist one of these days despite the boo boys, Agree with this. Glad we went for it. We are a great team to watch.
Ian S Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Anybody that thinks de laet was better than shit today have a word with yourselfs... Add schlupp to that too I was waiting for De Laet to be singled out, I think you need to rewatch the game and our defensive frailties ,personally thought Schlupp was far worse and our goalkeeper does not come out smelling of roses.
the messenger Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Why the Fuch did Fuchs not play not even on the bench! Absolutely miles better than schlupp. Ranieri has got to get it right in defence 352 please schmeichal beni morgan huth albrighton fuchs kante drinky dyer mahrez vardy
CKB Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Jeff was worse than DeLaet today by a margin.I thought they were equally as bad, but RDL has been caught out so many times this season and also last seasonIf we are sticking with 442 then RB options must be a priority in January. We clearly have a very capable LB in Fuchs and cover in Schlupp if need be. I don't think it would harm our attacking intent as we would have Dyer/Mahrez on the wings
Ian S Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Schlupp and Mahrez were very poor today 100% Agree.
brookfox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 When you look at the starting lineups a combined team would contain maybe 9-10 Arsenal with maybe only Kante for Flamini and if you were feeling kind maybe Vardy for Walcott. The only way you can win in those circumstances is either they don't turn up (they did), you get some luck (we didn't), you want it more (I thought their work rate was very good) or you out tactic them (our pacy high tempo game isn't suited to an equally fast team who are good at keeping possession under pressure). Definitely disappointing and a bit of a reality check of where we should be expecting to finish. Thought we did ok and had a few players off form (Schlupp and Mahrez spring to mind) whereas they had Sanchez hit form. All about how we react now against Norwich!
roblcfc84 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Ok a bit wrecked but for me today there is plus points and negatives. But a mate who is a newcastle fan text me said and described us as heavy metal football - i would rather be that than sit bk

I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it all properly with replays on MOTD, but if you're blaming the officials the they must have been appalling. I've seen you getting into arguments with people who do that.
Fox92 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 In all my 13 years as a season ticket holder I cannot recall such a emphatic away performance. Arsenal were a class act. Their forward line - Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez - was unbelievable, we couldn't cope with their movement.
The Guvnor Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I wasn't sure how CR would approach this game having sat deep against Spurs and paid them too much respect.I understand a few comments on here saying they would rather watch us go for it and lose than sit back and scrape a draw but we left ourselves wide open today and Arsenal lapped it up.
les-tah Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 arsenal on their day ooze class and it sounds like it was today!!
Matt Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it all properly with replays on MOTD, but if you're blaming the officials the they must have been appalling. I've seen you getting into arguments with people who do that. Exactly, I hate it, people need to look closer to home before blaming the officials but on this occasion they ruined the game from the offset gifting them the first 2, ok we were only a goal from getting back into it, we've done it before but against quality like that we could do without officials helping them and people disagree with me, that fair enough, they're entitled too but I don't think we played that bad, 2nd half they were better than us, much better, but don't think we made outragous errors and due to bad decisions the game was already lost.
crisp packet Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Great game. Thought we didn't get the rub of the green today. Far too many 50/50s went a against us? Officials was poor!!!! They counterattacked us for fun totally outclassed.Better team won Need to get something at Carrow road Ulloa and Fuchs a must!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 One of the best away performances I've seen at the King Power for a few seasons. Arsenal's class showed through to be honest, and when their on their game they can be unplayable. Both of Vardy's goals were very well slotted home though so that's positive.
FoxSince88 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I was waiting for De Laet to be singled out, I think you need to rewatch the game and our defensive frailties ,personally thought Schlupp was far worse and our goalkeeper does not come out smelling of roses. You was waiting for it because he was shite.. His attitude towards getting to the ball was non existent... Schlupp was just as bad
les-tah Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I seen nothing of today and Kante is our most exciting player so can someone tell me how good he was and what he did so well... This will ease the loss for me haha
dylanlegend Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 For all Ranieri rabbits on about it... He's certainly no tactical genius. However, I love the way we are playing at the minute I hope that doesn't change anytime soon
Pasty1 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Arsenal shown a title winning performance.... Had our shots gone in that hit the post/crossbar - it would have changed the psychology of the game.... Think 2-4 would have been a little more acceptable.... But lets not slate a team that put such a good run together..... Re-Group and start again against the Canaries..... Thought RDL had a better game this week and its ok criticising Mahraz when it goes wrong..... He played a part in all 3 goals a couple of games ago....... Keep the faith!!!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Just shows you cannot defend the way we do against the teams who are challenging up there. Suicidal and we will keep giving ourselves too much to do. Full backs are getting torn apart on the counter and leaving Huth and Morgan open. I do feel a 352 would be good to plug the leak at the back down both sides. Mahrez and Schlupp thought were poor today really. But just one game and need to learn lessons
wurmer Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Soundly beaten by one of the top sides in the League - nothing to be ashamed about. Feeling massively positive about this season, about the team spirit and how we've played so far. Onto the next game. Oh, and for those that haven't been on here recently and have come on to do some bashing tonight, wind your necks in and **** off.
ithuriel Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I'd rather us play open and continue as we are whilst looking for players to improve the squad in January than have a knee jerk reaction and start trying to alter things.
