From now on then you cannot run next to a faster player incase they want to run across you and clip your stride, players have a right of way now.

Okazaki misjudged his run. he cut across when he was not far enough ahead, if he had waited another 3 strides then cut across he'd have done so without causing any collision with arteta.

Okazaki got it wrong. Arteta started on a straight line, and finished on that same line.

Okazaki started level, and 4 yards to his right, he then ended up cutting across him. He ran into arteta, not the other way round.

It's too light where you are.. come to the dark bit in the corner

Oh shite you walked across me there. Didn't mean to trip you. Does this count as foul play? Can we still play with the tackles? Please don't hate me, Its just I didn't want you to have ten inches on me.

The Doc is right if you clip a player it's a foul. It's not Okazaki's fault, and in reality it's not really Arteta's either, but it's still a foul.

I think you can call a foul for any contact if you really wanted, if you clip a player by sticking a leg out yeah, just 2 players innocently running and misjudging speed is stupid, because the instigator of the incident is neither here nor there...

Can't give a foul for it, as you say, both at fault, can't really penalize one player, and I think you'd rather have had the advantage in that situation anyway, so it's rather a minor factor, we took the advantage, lost the ball fairly, then couldn't defend to save our lives.

So If I cut across you and spilt my drink, you'd buy me a new one even though you were just walking in a straight line minding your own business with no intention of tripping me?

Fouls aren't always intentional, doesn't mean he hasn't unfairly impeded the player. Also advantage can be given and stopped, it was clear within a few seconds we gained no advantage from the situation and it should have been brought back.

If we work on defensiveness, we'll be less-attacking.

No?

If we go full on Pearson retard mode from around this time last year then yes. If we go 352 or another formation that offers us a solid defensive unit with the same threat going forward, maybe a 4231, then maybe not.

We gained no advantage because we lost possession from an attacking chance, you can't say "oh Leicester did not score and got tackled so we will call it back"

If you lose the ball or get tackled then advantage gets called back, Whether vardy lost it fairly or was maliciously brought down we've already discussed is for debate and we disagree on.. but he cannot call it back for that when vardy tried to go solo and got tackled fairly (initially if you want to argue the afters)

Fouls aren't always intentional no, and I think the only impeding was okazaki on arteta because he ran across arteta without enough space to get across...

If Hamilton done it in a race you'd be screaming..

Could vardy get 20 goals? He would need to playing 1 upfront, we know jeff won't get 10+ and mahrez would get the others.

On this form I think vardy could play upfront on his own but I would not want to test it as I'm worried he'd have a few mares and lose form.

I think we finally have vardy back to the his conference form and he's flying!

We lost the advantage almost immediately, you can then go back to the foul. If Vardy had run a bit further, or tried a pass or got a shot away fair enough, but he didn't get much further before losing the ball, therefore not gaining an advantage, therefore you go back to the foul. Got it?

In a 352 he'd be fine, it's basically the same threat, but more solid. He struggles in a 1 so can't see that work but it's just another option available to shore us up at the back.

Not alot happened no, Vardy was chasing the ball, But Okazaki got "tripped" at the half way line, Vardy was "fouled" just outside the 18 yard box... so he's got a fair way into their half,

The point is though that you cannot call back an advantage if the advantage played results in losing possession fairly, Vardy lost possession fairly (the afters as I've said is up for debate)

The line between when we've got far enough to say the advantage has passed is a fine one, but we covered alot of ground in our advantage and anything could have happened, as it happens koscielny dispossessed vardy with ease, so it would have been unfair to then call it back and give possession back to Leicester when we lost it fairly in the advantage.

I agree, I'm skeptical of the 3-5-2 as a long term solution, and fuchs would not get a look in, what about albrighton? He played well as RWB but he's no natural there, and I think it would be harsh to see him not getting a game, on the plus side, Mahrez could go central and feed the strikers, happy days.

Correct me if I'm wrong but did the ref not play on advantage after Okazaki was fouled anyway?

I'm not having it that Koscielny's was accidental either. His arm movement is cynical.

I'm not blaming him as ultimately you can't defend like that and get away with it, but the referee was yet again abysmal. The standard is comical

The bench was baffling. No centre halves? No Fuchs after his performance the other night? Yet Simpson managed to get on there. Bizarre to say the least.

Thought Schlupp and Mahrez were woeful.

Yup Fushs deserves a start on his Westham performance. Mahez looked tied and a little scared today, onwards and upwards . Can't win them all, very important not too lose at Norwich now to keep the confidence levels.

The linesman on our side (sk4) was the most amateurish official I've ever witnessed in football. Complete space cadet.

It's a strong statement but I genuinely think he was the worst lino i've ever seen.

When you play the big aides you have that pivotal moment or rub of green required to make up the difference in quality, when Vardy hit the bar at 1-0. It was that moment.

My issue with the ref wasn't his decision making which is subjective. It was the way he absolutely pandered to Arsenal and allow them to slow the game down. Flamini down, game stopped. Okazaki down, game played on. Koscileny down and off the pitch, game stopped. Sanchez down and 80 yards away from the action, game stopped.

It appeared nothing more than the casual favourism bigger clubs get.'You ok there Alexis?'

There's questionable decisions given to us. When Albrighton all out pushed someone off the ball, he played on. Artera must have committed four fouls which were bookable - he got yellow for a virtual accidental handball.

Me at 7:40: Oh good 12 pages of post-match chat on the arsenal game I didn't manage to see, should be interesting...

Me at 7:50: why have I just read 35 posts by cityfanlee arguing about nothing?

we had the wrong players on the bench today.

And Albrighton for Ulloa?! Wtf

That's a Nigel Pearson substation right there. Take off the best crosser and put on a target man. That happened more than once last season.

One thing I thought from the game and realised even more so from the highlights that Schlupp and huth were terrible. Morgan and de laet weren't great at all but those 2 get the brunt of the abuse which I find harsh considering huth in particular gets nothing. I'd personally drop huth and Schlupp against Norwich.

My other main point which nobody seems to mention is marc albrighton is half the player on the left. He's just lost. He's a typical old fashioned winger so needs to be on the right, the left doesn't suit him, similar to when Beckham played in his prime for United. Class act on the right but nothing like that if you played him on the left.

I'd personally stick with 442 for Norwich but fuchs left back, benalouane centre back, ulloa up top for okazaki and potentially dyer down the left
