lifted*fox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it all properly with replays on MOTD, but if you're blaming the officials the they must have been appalling. I've seen you getting into arguments with people who do that. I agree with Matt, they were utter ****ing dog-shit and I'm not normally one for blaming the officials either. I don't necessarily think the outcome would have differed either way, but yeah - **** those officials today.
Always Next Year Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Schlupp very poor, totally spent in the second half. Vardy 100% game again, is a shame the rest of the team didn't have the spunk that he had, if they had we might have won the game. Onwards and upwards.
The Doctor Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 The officials were shite and got two major calls (foul on vardy and okazaki penalty call wrong), and it could have been different had they been given and we had gone in at half time 2-1 up, but what beat us was the defence, particularly schlupp, being on a two minute buffer for far too much of the match
jimmeh Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 norwich = must win game It isn't though is it?
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 To the hundreds of fans who were pouring out well before the end when the 4th went in, you're pathetic. Things don't go our way and you're gone quicker than a free buffet. So much for supporting the team to the end through thick and thin. Just glad you stopped short of booing.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 The reason Arsenal looked so good is we set up to play them at their own game, rather than to try and stop them, it shows how far we've come that that's become the case, I've never came away from a thrashing feeling positive before today, we played some good stuff and really tested them. I think we'll play worse this season and get three points.
adam Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 If we wanna be tight at the back we need to play full backs that can defend. Schlupp and RDL are hopeless defensively .Embarrassingly bad. We need to have a look at the centre halfs as well. IMO the big pole is far more solid than Morgan . Changes needed .
Babylon Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Mahrez was awful today, in fact awful doesn't cover it. Three of their goals came from him losing possession or not tracking from what I remember. The headed goal was down to him totally, can't believe he just left Ozil so free when he knew RDL was already on a man, he looked at him about four times and only bothered running back when it was too late.
Riot Van Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 ScouseFox mate, still wondering why I laughed at you saying Sanchez would only make our bench?

Huth can't cover him and Mahrez going AWOL.
Bettsj2 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Bit of a crazy game really. Very end to end with not much concern for defending. Considering the scoreline, we actually played some very nice football. Our problem today was we were up against a world class striker with a point to prove. As a back 4 we're likely to concede goals against anyone so no great surprise that Sanchez had a field day. Our start has been tremendous and I can see our season evening out now to a mid-table finish. Plus points were Kramaric looking quite sharp when he came on, Drinkwaters continuing good form, Kante looking a bargain and Jamie Vardy looking every bit an England striker. Minus points are our general defending and, well thats about it. I do think its time to switch back to the back 3 away at Norwich. Our attacking prowess is there for all to see. Need to make their job easier by giving them a bit more confidence at the back.

Blanesta Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I think the main thing from this result will be how and if we bounce back, it will be a real test of character! But if we can keep a good level of consistency I will feel very confident about this season.
Carl the Llama Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 ScouseFox mate, still wondering why I laughed at you saying Sanchez would only make our bench? ScouseFox should be embarrassed. He clearly knows nothing about football.
Babylon Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Don't know why he stayed on ...Should have been first off, looked leggy, heavy touch, too many touches, too much time rather than quick ball. Sigh... I shouldn't be so harsh they have one player costing about as much as our team, but it's so frustrating watching the basics done badly.
Saxondale Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Bloody annoying that result. We should never have lost by that margin. What pisses me off is that clueless cnuts like Adrian Durham - and other useless tossers of his ilk - spend hours a week banging on about how Arsenal need finishers in their team. Today was a story of Arsenal not dominating a game, but finishing absolutely clinically and scoring goals out of seemingly nothing. Spoke to two very nice Arsenal fans on the train home who were as surprised as we are at the result and extremely gracious in victory. They had plenty of luck and plenty of decisions. This is going to happen in the Premier League. We needn't be disheartened, we need to just move on to the next game.
Babylon Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Well that's a meal out for you and the missus this week without winning a mill then. How much do you spend on betting? How many times did Mahrez lose the ball today - must be the highest number in the Prem this week. £10 a week at most if anything. just a bit of fun.
Riot Van Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 ScouseFox should be embarrassed. He clearly knows nothing about football. you his pet?
sdb Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I like how the best player we've had in a decade got berated by most fans at the first sign of a below par performance. Full backs getting slated but they were clearly instructed to attack. I actually thought RDL was one of our best players anyway. Partly admire the way we tried to win the game but we also made it incredibly easy for them at times. CR loves to talk about clean sheets but if we play the way we are at the moment (rightly or wrongly) we'll never get one.
Babylon Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Forgetting decisions that may or may not have cost us. That ref was an utter disgrace, I just couldn't believe some of the stuff he was doing. Their player was off the pitch injured and he basically stops the game to give him time to recover and get back on. Their player goes down with an innocuous leg injury and he blows his whistle to stop the game and start from a drop ball. Their player is injured and goes off the pitch and he stood the game for a minute to let them get a player on. No... If they ain't ready you play on until they are. It was almost like they daren't upset Wenger by letting them go down to 10 men for a minute.
sdb Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Fuming. They won that 2-3 as far as i'm concerned, still a loss, but i'm not having Arsenal be flatted by 2-5 after that, although after hearing reports of their 3rd being offside aswell, maybe it was 2-2 as far as i'm concerned, i'll reserve judgement and say they won 2-3 until i've seen a replay though. I'm not one to blame the referee or officials as many people know, it's a pet hate of mine but today they are at fault, they were a disgrace, the linesman is one of the worst i've ever seen, Arsenal must have been offside atleast 3, 4 maybe even 5 times, 2 of them led to 2 goals, 3 if reports of the 3rd are correct. There was a foul on Okazaki and Vardy leading to their 2nd. Bleeding joke. We didn't play bad and I don't think the defence were at fault for much really, if todays game was played by the rules it would have been a totally different game. The loss doesn't sit well with me, it's a horrible feeling but to know it's mainly the officials fault makes it even worse. And for me of all people to pin it on the officials, they must have been bad. agreed - not seen anything back yet but the officials and 1 linesman especially appeared to be completely incompetent (or just bias) I've been saying we need to go to 352 and today was a game to do it. However, we didn't so no point harping on about that. The game today (defence aside) - Mahrez was poor and teams are going to get his number and work out how to play him, whether he is a good player or a great player will be shown in how he deals with this. Drinky and Kante are a good pairing even when they're overrun and outnumbered in midfield. This will be vital against teams who don't have the quality that Arsenal have. They're physically good and both look to get forward quickly. Helps with our pacey counter attacking options. Finally, I would rather support a team who lose 5-2 going for the game and showing determination than a team who set up to contain and defend with 11 men behind the ball all game. Still work to be done but let's enjoy it and get behind the team next week away to Norwich. COYB agreed
