And we have Beardie Ben at Brizzle City. So why would we sign another keeper - although young Pickford does sound quite special. Opinions?

When Kasper was injured last season, Hamer played and kept a number of clear sheets before Schwartzer turned up, so what happened?

It's not like they're a football league club that need money. I'd have thought three million for a 21-year old who's never played a first-team game is a pretty good bid.

I imagine a lot of any deal would be based on future appearances and what he achieves, rather than the initial base fee.

They have Pantimillon & Mannone as well so along with Pickford have good depth in that position so a £3,000,000 fee looks good business for them. I've no idea how good this Pickford is but he's a local lad so if he has great potential then I can't see them letting him go as he'd be ideal in the Championship for them next season if they get relegated. That article looks bollocks anyway as who is after Schmichael and would we really replace him with an unknown quantity in Pickford? I can't see it myself.

Why would we be worried we have to sell Kasper and replace him with a young lad who hasnt got top flight football experience? GK is quite a specialized position and its not so easy to take risks there, especially for a team aspiring to improve their standing.
