Dan Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 We aren't inventive enough to nick a game like that. See the Italy game in the Euros as a perfect example. 120 minutes and we barely had a single chance.
Jordan Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 We don't get success either though, and we won't get to the semis of the European Championship either. We're so boring to watch. Not even interested in paying to watch them at the minute. How could anybody write these chances off already? Name me four Euro 2016 qualified/playoff teams England should be scared of facing.
Carl the Llama Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 How could anybody write these chances off already? Name me four Euro 2016 qualified/playoff teams England should be scared of facing. France, Iceland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Belgium, Wales.
VLC86 Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 England have been awful to watch for ages. Hodgson doesn't help but it can't all be put on him. The overall experience of an England game at Wembley is horrendous. Â Yep, I went to the Estonia patch and it was pathetic.

The highlight was probably the ribbing I got from Ukranains when the best we could summon from the bench was Henderson.
Bayfox Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Preparing for the fact there'll be an NFL franchise playing there in the next few years This.
Dan Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Yep, I went to the Estonia patch and it was pathetic.  To be fair it's partly a problem with international football in general. This qualifying group was as good as over for us once we won in Switzerland.  Eugh i was at that game as well. The highlight was probably the ribbing I got from Ukranains when the best we could summon from the bench was Henderson.  It was painful. It'll be the same again in France. No-one will hammer us, we'll just not do anything of note.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 We don't get success either though, and we won't get to the semis of the European Championship either. Â We're so boring to watch. Not even interested in paying to watch them at the minute. I donnt think we will either, but if we did by winning a couple of games on pens or a lucky 1-0 win you would say 'well we're so boring so I'm not gonna watch' Greece 2004 showed getting tactics right and playing to strengths means you can be hard to beat and do well. Generally think we can do decent at this tournament, but possibly quarters or thereabouts
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 None that won't be drowned out by those parping twats in the England band. The band have been, erm, banned.
Voll Blau Posted 23 October 2015 Author Posted 23 October 2015 The band have been, erm, banned. Â Good.
Wymsey Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Good. Without it, the atmosphere would really be awful. Â Even if they do it for up to a minute or so at most, in which they do, at least it's something.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 I thought the band got banned years ago? No. It was after Scotland last year. Theres two England chants to the same tune- 'follow England away' and 'fcuk the ira' they were playing the tune to the first whilst we were singing the latter. I think what done it for them was that they persevered with playing the tune so we persevered singing the alternate version
walkerleeds Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Painfully obvious something like this needs to happen to rejuvenate interest and passion for the national team. Has anyone got any hard evidence this has even been remotely discussed by the FA though?!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 God knows but the fa have just confirmed today we've got Holland at home at Wembley. Perhaps they meant the practice games immediately before the tournament
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Without it, the atmosphere would really be awful. Â Even if they do it for up to a minute or so at most, in which they do, at least it's something. Â It was just Self Preservation Society and The Great Escape on a continuous loop. Just because it's "something" doesn't necessarily means it adds anything.
SystonFox Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 France, Iceland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Belgium, Wales. He only asked for four ffs
