ScouseFox Posted 26 October 2015 Posted 26 October 2015 ive never seen a star wars, a james bond, a lord of the rings, tbh i dont have the mental capacity or concentration levels to watch a whole film

And if you do have one, definitely don't have another. And if you pass your driving test it's unlikely you'll take the bus again, so I'd focus all your efforts on fingering that bird first off.

Royston. Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Been to a dentist. The thought of equipment being used in my mouth frightens me. laughing out loud
Fox92 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Glad I'm not the only one who has never been to a festival. Never used chopsticks before. Never been to Wales. Never baked. They just don't appeal to me. Would rather pay for the one artist who I actually want to see.
Samilktray Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Or you can go to a festival and pay to see a lot of artists you want to see
ScouseFox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 They just don't appeal to me. Would rather pay for the one artist who I actually want to see. as gay as it sounds there's so much more to it than the music. ive spent whole days at festivals where i've only seen one band, i even remember a saturday at leeds one year when i didn't see anyone. tbh it's rare i'd ever see more than two or three acts a day/night in a festival, which is pretty similar to going to a gig and seeing a support followed by a main act. just you get to do that 3 or 4 days in a row over the course of 6 days whilst having the time of your life, instead of going after work one day to a venue round the corner.
Finnegan Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 I'd be fuming if I went a day at a festival without wanting to see anyone (or being able to) especially given what you pay now. I get what Scouse means, though, there's a lot more to a tidy festival than gigs. I went every year to a festival from about fourteen to twenty two and I've got countless stories and almost none of them are about music. Most involve excess, be it sex, drugs, alcohol or just plain stupidity. I've fallen in love, gotten laid, gotten ridiculously high, been thrown around by police, gotten covered in mud and ouzo, had surreal conversations with some of the strangest (and most high) people I've ever met and **** knows what else. I get that getting mashed in a field with sixty thousand other people and running the STD & Liver Failure gauntlet isn't for everyone but it's worth £120 of anyone's money if it is. Last festival ticket I bought was about 250 quid mind, tragic when I can remember paying about £75 for a full weekend at Reading in about 2002.
ScouseFox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 it was the saturday of leeds 2011 btw, i think the line up was paramore, bring me the horizon & my chemical romance. and the other stage was whatever liam gallagher's attempt at making music without noel gallagher was called. and something else shit. rather sit around and burn stuff and then go to some messed up dj tent/caravan/treehouse. having one day out of 3 or 4 where you don't see anyone or can't find an act of interest isn't that bad. think i paid £150 or something for my ticket, and saw pulp, strokes, pete doherty, streets and loads more on other days. yeah they're well expensive now, can usually pick a leeds ticket up on ebay (or twitter/somewhere) for £150 or so a few weeks before now cos it doesn't sell out. gotta bare in mind that it seems/is expensive but you're looking at £60+ just for one act at an arena these days. so even if you just saw three good acts at a festival it's still technically value for money, and like you say that's before you even get involved in everything that doesn't happen when stood in front of a stage.
bovril Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Mud and ouzo? Was this 'waitrose presents razorlight in Chipping Norton'?
