Ashley Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Getting back together so I've heard. Announcement later this evening.
bovril Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 After the Pixies got back together, I always hoped Stone Roses would be the one band not to chase the buck and leave it as it was. Although the Second Coming tour kind of ruined it anyway. Probably my favourite band when I was 17 / 18, and still my favourite album of all time. But one of those groups that makes more sense when you're that age.
RonnieTodger Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 The intro to "I wanna be adored" is just great.
bovril Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 The intro to "I wanna be adored" is just great. Christ yes. Digging out the vinyl right now.... It's hard to understate how bad most of the baggy, 'Madchester' stuff was and just how amazing the Roses and Mondays were.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 The favourite band of most of my friends, so even though they've done nothing for 20 years I can never get away from the f***kers (and that's coming from someone that's got pretty much all their stuff)
David Guiza Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Would much prefer this to an Oasis comeback; better band.
bovril Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Would much prefer this to an Oasis comeback; better band. Pal that's like comparing Jamie Vardy with Iain Hume.
Rocket-Ron Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 It'll never be as good. They couldn't even keep the ball rolling after not recording together for 3 years, what's it going to be like after 20 plus?
Fox92 Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Not one for reunions. What's the point. The best thing about bands that have come and gone - The Smiths, The Jam etc - is that they will always have something over us. "What if they did get back together etc". Just leave the legacy as it is. Not that I'm a massive Stone Roses fan. I've got their greatest hits but that's it.
RedSoxUK Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Really hope they don't do another album if they do come back to tour. Bands like Stone Roses really do need to be left to be remembered. If it's ruining your legacy to gain a quick buck, then you don't deserve it. Pixies have almost ruined their legacy for the hardcore fans because their recent material has been garbage. Same applies to any artist who have 'reunited' for money rather than creativity. The only bands worthy reuniting, are those whose audiences have actually grown since disbanding, and those who intend to be creative. Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus & Mary Chain; that's how you reunite.
David Guiza Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Pal that's like comparing Jamie Vardy with Iain Hume. Exactly
m4DD0gg Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Didnt they not get back together 2 years ago for a set of concerts.....surely they cannot have run out of money already?!
bovril Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Didnt they not get back together 2 years ago for a set of concerts.....surely they cannot have run out of money already?! Those cheeks don't get so hollow on their own, you know.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Hope this is true. My mate brought the Greatest Hits album for my drive up to Wednesday away when Marshall scored. Its not left my cd player yet Sally Cinnamon is a banging tune. Got tickets to go to the donkey a week Friday to see that tribute band
Matt Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Glasto or t in the park then? Not keen on Twitter but whilst doing a search for Stone Roses news just seen a link to this, so it'll be T by the look of things. m4DD0gg Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 it is ironic that ian brown is a diehard united fan
Voll Blau Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Does Reni not basically do most of the vocals now anyway coz Brown's fvcked?
Guest Manini Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 80 quid a ticket I've heard...even hardened roses fans will be put off by that
Voll Blau Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 80 quid a ticket I've heard...even hardened roses fans will be put off by that 17-year-old instagram awayday banterfootylads who wear £700 coats to mid-summer gigs and look at you funny if you step on their brand new Spezials won't be though.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 17-year-old instagram awayday banterfootylads who wear £700 coats to mid-summer gigs and look at you funny if you step on their brand new Spezials won't be though. Gonna wear my football shirt to the gig
