Head Honcho Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 I was a programme geek for years, had all of them and went to fairs to buy all of the ones I didn't have from the 80s when I was just a wee lad. Can you enlighten us on when he featured? Was it in the 'Mitty of the City' era? (Please ignore this if you're under 30, or don't waste money on programmes). It was a fan of the week section I think. I'm sure we had a thread on it at one time. Maybe late 70s to early 80's.

I've seen this feature on him somewhere online. It's on this forum somewhere. I'm guessing it was early 80's. I started going to matches aged 7 in 1987 and remember Mitty of the City. Definitely before that. If I remember correctly, it a picture of him in black and white looking very respectable. Probably not much help, sorry!

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but many years ago in the kop, I had the misfortune of taking a piss next to Bernie in the urinals. Long story short, I basically got completely covered in his piss. Bernie can fu*K off. You got berned
Guest MattP Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 That is an incredible find, worrying to think looking like that we could all turn into Bernie.
dorsetboy Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 just shows what a true supporter he is ? how many of you have walked to derby or nottingham to watch city play or even cycled to grimsby come to think of it if i recall bernie was fine but then his wife passed away and it hit him really hard and basically the foxes was all he had left and he spends every penny he has following city. also i do believe he still walks to the city games from his home in loughborough.
dorsetboy Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 That is an incredible find, worrying to think looking like that we could all turn into Bernie. whats even more worrying is you could end up with a mental problem due to something thats not your fault and just get ridiculed on an internet forum. im not preaching but say your a father of a kid with mental illness who acted a bit like bernie and you came on here to see people taking the piss and slagging him off. im sure you would be a bit pissed
Guest MattP Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 I dunno, would it bother me if I was mental? I suppose I wouldn't know anyway, only concerned now as I'm sane. Probably never knew until it was too late.
Leicesterpool Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 This? Incredible that is, unbelievable it's the same guy. What year was that from, cause I know some say he's not as old he looks? It's a pity radio Leicester or the fox fanzine couldn't get into contact with him, get some sort of interview setup with him. Bet he has a few stories to tell.
Hollism Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 Missed the bus to WBA away, and got a lift there. I was told at the game is he sat next to Bernie on the way back. Got in the bus after the game and there he was, spread across the front two seats with mince pies everywhere. He shouted at me for a bit about having a pizza in the oven for when he gets home before some guy said there was a seat next to him.
brisfox Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 Last time I saw Bernie he was arguing with a lamp post in Raw Dykes Road
Guest Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 He must have a proper job, home and away ain't cheap He's surely way too old for that. Probably long since pensioned off.

The other Ollie Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 When he lived in Quorn, about 15 years ago, one of my mates walked past his house. An ashtray came flying out of his front room, through the glass pane, nearly hitting my pal. Next Bernie appears, running away. Mrs B had thrown the ashtray at Bernie and missed.
AKCJ Posted 11 November 2015 Author Posted 11 November 2015 An embarrassment to our club now What do you mean "now"? He's been this way for as long as i've recognised him. Why should we be embarassed by him and why only now? Is it because we're a Premier League team now?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 What do you mean "now"? He's been this way for as long as i've recognised him. Why should we be embarassed by him and why only now? Is it because we're a Premier League team now? No. I've been embarrassed by him for as long as I remember. What I meant by 'now' was that if your sense of humour was that poor that you've found him even mildly amusing in the past, the novelty should've worn off by now.

VLC86 Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 Last time I saw Bernie he was arguing with a lamp post in Raw Dykes Road That bloody lamp post, always back chatting.
Leicesterpool Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 Apparently he's a regularly at a T-Shirt design shop in Loughborough, think he's after that bird
