seenitall Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 No you're a miserable sod for not being able to enjoy our position and consistently posting wummery. I suspect you're related to seenitall Charming - it is interesting though that those of us who thought City were able to achieve much more than Coco delivered were hounded down on here and eventually by Coco himself and tagged as the 'delusions of grandeur' mob. There were those a couple of years ago who thought they would be happier in the Championship as that was all we really deserved in their eyes - This feels like we are a little ahead of where we should be right now but to bring it back to Mahrez, he was a fantastic signing for us and so Coco deserves a bit of credit for that (if it was indeed him who made the decision to bring him here) and I am happy for all the posters on here who underestimated our size and potential during the Coco years to bask in the success that I and a few others knew we were capable of once the board and owners woke up. You are welcome..........
st albans fox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I expect 78 points will be required this season I don't see us managing that but top four certainly should be achieved

Gerard Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Someone pointed out today that if we finish 4th and Chelsea are not in the top 4 but win the champions league. We wouldn't get into it the CL and would be put into Europa. How gutting would that be for the club? If Chelsea win the CL and an English team won the Europa League and didn't finish top four then it's only the first three places get in the CL. Only five teams from one country can enter and winning the CL or Europa Cup takes precedence over finishing fourth.
desertfox2 Posted 22 December 2015 Author Posted 22 December 2015 So fourth place would just go into the Europa league in that instance. Does that effect the Europa qualifying positions then?
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I thought if the CL winner finished outside the top 4 they would be placed in the qualifying rounds? Didn't it change when Liverpool won it but finished 5th? Or has that changed since then?
Stevosevic Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Everyone is beating each other, yes we could lose the next four but we could win the next four. One game at a time but every game is winnable.

Dan Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 This really is just laughable I'm afraid and embarrassing. If it was Southampton or crystal palace in our position you would say they have absolutely no chance of winning the title. That's absolute bollocks though.
Steven Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Didn't we have a thread like this when we won the Championship. I think that experience will be very helpful this time round especially as many players from that team are still here.
MONreborn Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/ I have us to finish on 80 points 1st place! (by a point) I reckon 12 wins, 6 draws and 3 losses will do it. Tough ask I know but we would have to win almost all our home games. Can afford to lose at city, arsenal. Can afford to lose 1 out of watford, spurs, united, liverpool, chelsea away (and draw the rest). Its a tough tough ask. Got to just take everygame as it comes...

They have experience of winning a league
C-man Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 I'm not so convinced... A few defeats and all this euphoria could turn into something more horrible and become a weight around the teams neck. For example, if we finished 7th this season and then started off with a disappointing start next season - couldn't you see the daggers starting to come out? Come on Barry, lighten up a bit.

The Championship is a pointer....we got to the top of that and continued to emphasise our ability before winning by a distance. Yes, I know the standard's different. So is our team's standard. But they've shown themselves to be winners and well able to take pressure.

Thracian Posted 24 December 2015 Posted 24 December 2015 Two-man Leicester win the League .... I can't wait!
CharlieCharles Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 1. Arsenal 2. Man City 3. Leicester 4. Tottenham 5. Man Utd 6. Liverpool 7. Palace .... 18. Sunderland 19. Bournemouth 20. Aston Villa 3rd place would be incredible... a lot could happen yet.
