21 games to go 14 wins for the title?

Arsene Wenger this week said that he expects around 80 points to win the league this season. Could 80 points be enough this year? Would another 42 points be enough?

Disclaimer: not saying it's going to happen, not putting the kiss of death on it. Man utd hold the record for winning by the lowest points total of 75.

Safety. With all the above being said does that mean this year's survival points total be higher.

I'm going for 82 to win the league 70 for Europe and 41 for survival. Thoughts?

It could well be. We've laid the foundations with a great first half of the season. I think the team have a great evergy and togetherness. It could be possible but I think it's still more likely that we won't. They'll be bumps in the road along the way. What is important is how they react to them.

Who knows? We'll never have a better chance. The big teams are practically falling over themselves to keep losing.

Was driving home last night and had a little daydream about big Wes smiling as he lifted the Premier League trophy...

If there was ever a year when an unexpected team won the title, it is this year.

None of the 'big' teams seem to be playing with any consistency, and we are the only team to be managing to win almost week in week out at the moment.

I reckon above 80 points would easily be enough to win the title unless City/Arsenal spend lots in January or manage to play to their potential every week

The only thing I expect when we play each game is that we will either win, lose or draw, and I'm sticking by that. Is there a team that we can say we will defo beat? Personally I don't think so. For me that's what's makes our season amazing because everything is worked for and taken, nothing is given. So winning the league? For me that's just paper talk, chat sh@@, get ..... We know the rest. For now the only thing that's important is the next game, if we bring our pride, passion pace and ability we our in with a shout, the rest of it doesn't matter....... Yet

Teams are going to be much more aware of how we play this time around so I doubt it will be as easy to pick up as many points.

This really is just laughable I'm afraid and embarrassing. If it was Southampton or crystal palace in our position you would say they have absolutely no chance of winning the title.

How many people thought Bournemouth were guaranteed to be relegated when they were losing every week and had the injuries? 3 wins in a row and now everyone thinks they will stay up. Newcastle the same. Football can change very very quickly. Please do not get your hopes up.

I'm such a scrooge for thinking that we won't win the league after only getting promoted a few seasons ago lol what did nigel once say? Delusions of grandeur

No you're a miserable sod for not being able to enjoy our position and consistently posting wummery. I suspect you're related to seenitall

No!! Let's not get our hopes up and dream a little.. Mustn't do that...

Tell you what.. How about we all agree that we're going to get beat 4-0 at Liverpool, then go on a 15 match losing streak.. That's much more likely to happen.. Because we're little old Leicester City!

they've been aware for a while we're just too good to stop. look at mourinho crying about his players "betraying" his plan. his plan was to not let mahrez come back inside, he was up against arguably the best left back in the league last year (who is right footed so even stronger going the way riyad wants to go) but he couldn't stop him.

i don't think it's much to do with teams/managers being surprised how we play, simply that we are too good at it to stop.

As others have alluded to, quite possibly the best PL season ever and irrespective of it being our turn in the sun. To see three newly promoted teams all come up and adapt and kick ass is fabulous entertainment. To have mid-table teams like WHU and CPFC pushing for Europe is wonderful. To have a relegation favourite 5 points clear at the top is the stuff of fairy tales. To see the genuinely huge clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool be so bereft of ideas makes us all smile. To see so many 'big name players' shown up for being little more than a mixture of ego and myth is a good dose of realism for everyone. And to have Villa so inept and desperate makes us all grateful it wasn't us! Regardless of who you support, if you love footie, then it's a vintage season to savour.

Bang on, we're just too good. We won't commit too many forward and leave ourselves suceptible to counter attacks and Mahrez and Vardy showed how little space they need to operate with that through ball and peno win against Everton, or the Chelsea goal. Whichever you want.

At some point the tide will turn. Obviously we all hope it won't happen until it's too late for the other challengers to catch up.

Our defeat against Arsenal has actually only made us stronger (by setting up more solidly), but we're not the only team with good spirit in this league and it would be mad if the players started to get over confident.

Why?? By the same reasoning if it was Chelsea you would say they were going to walk it.

Ranieri himself said it's good for the fans to dream as long as the players and him keep their heads.

What's wrong with enjoying the moment? I've supported Leicester for ages and we have never been in this position. If enjoying where we are right now which is the best position we have ever been in the prem and dreaming is embarrassing to you then so be it. But I'm just going to carry on believing/dreaming and thinking what if???? And even if it all goes wrong then that's what everybody expected anyway so no shame in that either.

Oh and Merry Christmas

Where have you come from? Popped up a week ago and posted boredom and misery since.

Journo or opposition fan WUM is my guess.

ranieri99 is just realistic, we'll do well to finish Top 6, we're riding a wave and will start to lose, happens to all clubs punching above their weight.

I thought that at the beginning but we are playing so well and causing everyone we play problems, no matter how good or strong their team sheet is. Even if we have a dip in form, we will always cause teams problems and score goals, so I actually think, although we will start losing more games, we will still win our fair share too, and given our great start, finishing in the top 4 now is more likely than not. A wave it may be, but it shows no signs of stopping and I am seriously doubting it will. Top 4 here we come
