Webbo Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 I don't claim to be an expert but I love a bit of this. A bit of Motown, 60s and 70s soul too. I put this in another thread so I thought I'd start a thread on here too.
Matt Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 My dad loved it, used to go up to Wigan regularly, apparently he was quite a good dancer as well. It's ok, wouldn't say i'm massively into it but it pisses all over the 80's era - What a shite time for music the 80's was, before and after are great but the 80's era

katieakita Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 Many years many stones ago, miss the old Vespa the the mod/Soul scene, still pretty big round Long Eaton and Cheltenham where i grew up.
masterg59 Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 Really love this stuff there are so many good compilations about, beg borrow or steal any of these
jonthefox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Musics ok , but the blokes look like c**ts when they dance .
purpleronnie Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Musics ok , but the blokes look like c**ts when they dance . How so?
RUDZY Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 It keeps on burning...when all the other musical fads have come and gone it will ALWAYS BE THERE!
Wycombe Fox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 If you guys like Northern Soul you ought to get down to the island for August Bank Holiday weekend. A full Thursday to Monday of Northern Soul, 60s music and Ska, mainly in Ryde.
Vacamion Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 I love a bit if this. Me and Mrs Vac head to "Barrowloadasoul" at Glasgow Barrowland every year and I dance badly to it all night. Marvin Gaye, "This love starved heart if mine (Is killing me)" is probably my current fave. "A little togetherness" by The Younghearts a close 2nd. (Soz, can't add YouTube links as am on the dog and bone)
Wolfox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Love a bit of northern soul... Spread Eagle anyone? Brighton Beach?
Freesolo Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Not A Northern Soul Record but this Video takes you through the evolution of dance music, really good. my Dad loves NS and thought this was a great video
RobHawk Posted 5 February 2016 Posted 5 February 2016 Anyone seen the film - worth a watch and a good soundtrack! The original northern soul was before my time but i love anything i can dance badly too! P.S. I love the idea of Vac raving it up and proper dancing in Glasgow once a year
