Ricky Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Some idiot behind me was moaning all game and then said "Schlupp's fell over more times than he's touched the ball"... He meant dyer. Plastic fantastic
southfox66 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Thing is, we got 40 points now and safe, so why we moaning, to be honest anything that happens now is a bonus to what we expected at the start of the season. I could say we looked jaded today or off the pace, but when we 2nd in the league in the first week of January, isn't really much to moan about is there Just keep enjoying the season I say, there 38 teams below us that would love to be in our position.
PAULCFC Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Must admit Ranieri got somethings massively wrong for me today. 1) What was the point of having both De Laet and Wasilewski on the bench today? Just having one of them on the bench would have been adequate as it gives you the flexibility of moving to a 3 at the back and having cover across the back line. Especially against a lower half side where we should be taking the game to the opposition. 2) The same for Inler and King? There is no need for 2 central midfielders on the bench. You are never going to substitute both of your cm's and you are massively unlucky if 2 get injured. Claudio needed to make a decision today and leave one out. 3) When Bournemouth went down to 10 men Huth should have been replaced for Inler. It was obvious Bournemouth had no intention of attacking once Francis was sent off and Inler being much more comfortable on the ball could have filled in at centre back to keep the ball moving quickly and look for space to expose. Huth is a great player for us but he is massively uncomfortable with the ball at feet and he slowed the play down a lot when we had to break down the parked bus. Huth for Inler.. :xmassad:.......As much as i'd like to think we were a Barcelona and be able to do that.We are not! Huth didn't do too bad coming forward .
Thracian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Christ some serious numpties on this board tonight Thracian what is wrong with you? We are second in the premier league and we have played some bloody good stuff this season. We draw at home to Bournemouth who have had some good results this season and the board goes into meltdown. All those that are saying Bournemouth deserved to win are either deluded or wind up merchants. Granted they missed two sitters but they missed them and Kasper didn't have a save to make all game not one save. We although playing not at our best missed a penalty and it was a definite penalty you cannot tackle from behind anymore regardless if you touch the ball or not anywhere else on the pitch a freekick is always given so a penalty is no exception. We should have had a second penalty also. We are still a bloody good team and I for one am proud of them and their efforts so far this season. We should have won that game today 2 0 unfortunately we didn't. Watching it again on motd highlights my points Bournemouth were hanging on. How anyone can say they deserved to win than they Themselves are truly deluded. I'm proud of our team too but they can do a lot better than this and should have done. Kasper might not have had a save to make but they had three excellent chances early on so you're being selective...and your 2-0 assessment is just not realistic. I'd say 4-2 to us would have been more reflective starting with the two penalties we should have had and scored, Vardy's shot onto the post and maybe one or two other efforts. But we scored zero and some of our players were poor by their own standards with one being poor by any standard. Anyway it's all been discussed and the feeling of just having witnessed a totally unnecessary 0-0 draw when we could have been matching Arsenal's pace at the top of the table hasn't gone away. And while others may chose to ignore the change in our going from scoring in every game to failing to score in three successive matches it sure bothers me and reflects a marked lack of options both in tactics and personnel.
ronnup Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Could've easily been 3-0 of not for the woodwork or marginal inches. Some horrible lack of footballing knowledge being displayed here. Poor.

Um, RDL is a full back and that's why both he and Wasyl are on the bench. Claudio has also made it pretty obvious we're never going back to a back three, so there's that.
Mad Dog Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Ugh, there threads make depressing reading. We just made 40 points. We'd probably all have signed up for that over the whole season before it started. Mahrez nets his penalty, Vardy scores what was more or less an open goal, Morgan does the same, we've brushed them aside 3-0 and none of this moaning. Fine lines. They'll take points from bigger sides than us over the rest of the season, good unit.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Fooking dreadful. If we're faced with any sort of team that defend and don't let us counter, we are terrible. We have become so one-dimensional, Pearson taught us to play attacking football and Ranieri is teaching long balls with sporadic counter attacks. Dreadful. Pearson only played an attacking game once we had no other options. Get a grip.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Dyer is the a waste of space, cant beat his man, cant control and cant pass. Knew mahrez would miss didn't look confident at all, whether he is tired or what didn't look himself, need additions to the attack immediately or we will slide, Bournemouth looked the better site. Same as at their place then.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Seriously? How was that performance not woeful mate? Woeful would be a defeat, not a draw. Woeful was last season, up to the 29th game.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Every season there are a couple of games like this.. you just knew we were not going to score..thank god its the fa cup next week. . time for a mental rest for our key players. And our fans!
cjslcfc Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Just watched the penalty decision again. I'm sorry but that's a penalty every day of the week. He gets the slightest touch on the ball, if that, but comes straight through Vardy to do so. He has little control of the ball and comes through the back, which we know these days is an absolute foul. Additionally, the second penalty shout was also a penalty. I heard the commentator on sky sports say it was simply "a tangle of legs". Yes, but it was a tangle of legs initiated by the bournemouth player running into the back of Vards! All in all a very frustrating day but a point is ok and we really did create some clear cut chances that we uncharacteristically didn't take! I'm going to put my neck on the line and say, after resting players in the cup, we are going to go and beat Spurs a week on Wednesday.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Of course not. However, now we are in this position I'm not just about to claim the season is over and that we should just be satisfied to have got this far. If you are just happy for 10th then you might as well stop going to games for the rest of the season. Nobody is going into meltdown here, but we are looking like a side that aren't playing like we were at the minute. The reasons for that are up for debate. Nobody is going into meltdown here... You might not be, but plenty of others are.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 What's worse than any individual performance today is the absolute bullshhiitee i've just read on pages 1 & 2. I couldn't go beyond that but if you posted on those pages, you are - almost to a man - an absolute bellend. We drew a game FFS!!! Lovin your work fella!
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I've already listed them somewhere but they'll stand repetition: a) One and preferably two goalscoring central midfielders. b) Two fast, elusive goalscoring wingers who think about their crosses. Schlupp's no good to us injured and no-one else fits the bill. c) Two specialist strikers. d) One attacking full-back. I'd also try to shed five or six players from the current squad. You want all that in Jan? I can't see that happening at all...
Mainlander Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Dread to think of the reactions on here if we had lost. People need to think about how far we have come in a short time. It was 2 points dropped but these things happen even to sides in the top two of the Prem. Oh, that's us.
bobtickle Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Credit to bournemouth, they're no mugs, only lost 1 in the last 8, they looked fresh. Cant believe the slating leicester ae getting on here. Well over the top. No easy games this season for any team and weve done better than everyone except arsenal! Just think weve looked tired for the last few games. Understandble really considering the style of play we have and the consistency of our line up all season. We dont play a possesion game so weve got to expect our energy levels to drop if we dont rotate players. Obviously weve only being rotating ulloa and okazaki as if we do in other positions our quality will drop bar schlupp who has unfortunately been out. If we want to sustain this push i think we need at least 3 players in this window that can come in and keep or improve our quality so we have more options to change things, rest players and keep the energy levels up. Anyway this are great times for leicester. Still cant believe whats happening!
CosbehFox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I was annoyed and frustrated leaving the ground. Retrospectively, the poor first touches and the poor passing suggested a team whose tired. That doesn't disguise that point for Ulloa and Dyer. I stood up for Leo a lot but he simply has to take his opportunity better than that.
Libertine Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Cannot believe this thread. Disappointed, frustrating game and we're clearly a bit leggy but for goodness sake people.
foxes161 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Very disappointing result and it's worrying not scoring yet again Not a team we can afford dropping points against
Ricey Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Vardy scores that sitter in the first half and its a different game all together. We've lost that fizz, tempo and confidence that was there in abundance up until a couple of weeks back. I'm confident it will return but in the mean time we need some players such as Albrighton and Ulloa/Okazaki to up their games and contribute more. I can understand the frustration, as yesterday was frustration from start to finish, but it's done now. I'd like 10 changes for Spurs in the cup. I wouldn't even put Vardy, Mahrez and Kante on the bench.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Two things for me were highly apparent yesterday. 1. Bournemouth could have been home and dry by half time. A better team in terms of finishing would have put away at least two of their first half chances. Then they'd have shut up shop. We were carved open too easily. 2. We ourselves weren't ruthless. Vardy should have scored. End of. And Mahrez should not be missing penalties. Score the penno and it was game over. We DO look jaded and a little off sorts. I think we need to freshen up with a couple of key signings. Not 'squad players'. We need a couple of fellas to push for the first team and to keep the current first team on their toes. We've almost become a little complacent perhaps? Yes we are second (fantastic) but if we would have won that game yesterday we'd have had more of a cushion. Fine lines...
MakingEmileOfIt Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Not the end of the world but a disappointing result, had we been in a relegation battle this would have gone down as a 'must win' game. Both teams should have had a couple goals, but another clean sheet is the only real positive I see from this result. Vardy and Mahrez have both looked tired for a few games now and need a rest, and we desperately need more/better options in the wide areas. Kramaric will surely play in the cup against Spurs from the start? He has to take his chance, with Ulloa and Okazaki not particularly impressing much he could find himself alongside Vardy for the next league game with a good performance. I suppose at least we are on target to match the first half of the seasons points tally with a draw against Bournemouth. Onwards and upwards.
