GingerrrFox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Must admit Ranieri got somethings massively wrong for me today. 1) What was the point of having both De Laet and Wasilewski on the bench today? Just having one of them on the bench would have been adequate as it gives you the flexibility of moving to a 3 at the back and having cover across the back line. Especially against a lower half side where we should be taking the game to the opposition. 2) The same for Inler and King? There is no need for 2 central midfielders on the bench. You are never going to substitute both of your cm's and you are massively unlucky if 2 get injured. Claudio needed to make a decision today and leave one out. 3) When Bournemouth went down to 10 men Huth should have been replaced for Inler. It was obvious Bournemouth had no intention of attacking once Francis was sent off and Inler being much more comfortable on the ball could have filled in at centre back to keep the ball moving quickly and look for space to expose. Huth is a great player for us but he is massively uncomfortable with the ball at feet and he slowed the play down a lot when we had to break down the parked bus.
ajthefox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 So much drivel in the last few pages of this thread. Horrid place this when we don't win.
Mjeb Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Dyer had a bad game , I watched the game , but we also had a bad day as a team with a few below par performances on the day . We did not manage the ball very well at times . Bournmouth will take points off a few teams this season though which will help us . Happy so far this season though . Up the city
Webbo Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Are you dropping DD or ngolo? Well considering Schlupp isn't a central midfielder and I said from the bench, neither.
oohaahmustafa Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Could of won 3-0. We look a good team. Il be amazed if were not playing in Europe next year.
glenelgfox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Drinky non existent I agree - a whole game of slow decision making and poor passing from Drinky. Did he forget we were playing another team??? He and a number of others lack creative attacking intent e.g. Simpson who looks scared and out of his depth going forward. Why we persist in knocking long high balls up to our fwds is simply baffling. Ok we had Leo in for height but he was appalling so our options were midget forwards so lets keep trying 50 yard high balls - was never going to work. We look far more dangerous with low whipped balls in from either side. Doesn't help when Mahrez has a bad day - his indecisiveness cost us a number of times including his stutter penalty run up. We lacked width and attacking options from outwide. Albirghton is like many off the boil at present but Dyer replacing him was in the end a complete waste of time. Okazaki on for a whole half had 2 touches from what I saw. Surely Kramaric is a better option in those situations. To think he might leave but we will hang onto Ulloa??? I hope this match is a wake up call otherwise we can kiss top 4 away and expect a mid table finish which will be a terrible waste given we started the day equal top. Have we got it in us to reverse the results of the last 3 games?
WardyisPukka Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I despise this forum. We have 40 points and people are still moaning. Does anybody remember the levein/holloway days?. Look at villa for ffs. Make at least 9 changes for next week.
filbertway Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I think the long ball is partly down to the fact we seem to be camping on the edge of our box these last 4 games. There are barely any outballs available when we win it back because everyone is on Schmeichels toes.
Monsell1976 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 They didn't even register a shot on target, how can they deserve to win?Especially first half, they missed some glaring chances, if they put them away, we couldn't have complained. On the basis they didn't take them, a point was about right, we missed some good chances. My point is, we had an off day, and couldn't have complained if they had won, because barring the penalty miss, the had a few glaring chances to score.

While I agree, you are forgetting Vardy and Morgan's chances I think.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 There are occasions we should have a moan and this isn't one of them, some of the posts on here are ridiculous, we are 2nd in the Prem, have only lost 2 league games out of 20, it's an amazing season so far for us, yet I look on here and half the posts are moaning about the team, tactics and management decisions etc etc too many knee jerk reactions like changing the penalty taker after 1 miss for example. These are the good times enjoy them!
The Doctor Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Well considering Schlupp isn't a central midfielder and I said from the bench, neither. I think he's talking about your suggestion to freshen up the midfield with James
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 On highlights, Bournemouth missed 2 sitters, King in particular should have put them ahead
Monsell1976 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 While I agree, you are forgetting Vardy and Morgan's chances I think.I'm not, just think we should count ourselfs lucky we didn't lose, we were miss firing, but luckily enough so we're they.No disrespect to Bournemouth, play like today against better sides we would have been hammered, against sides with better strikers. That's not slating the team, they have given everything to get us where we are, and with fatigue, a busy Christmas schedule, we can forgive them an off game or two.
Number 6 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I still don't see how anyone can call that not a penalty.
filbertway Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 On highlights, Bournemouth missed 2 sitters, King in particular should have put them ahead I still can't work out how he missed that one. Any CB would be proud of that clearance

I find he gets it wrong quite a lot, especially the first 10 games this season, He addressed these mistakes (which could be formations, starting 11 ect) and we would come back from behind. Lets face it though it will happen some days, its inevitable.
sdb Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 That is a pen for sure! Right through Vardy and a pull on his shoulder, all before he gets the slightest, uncontrolled scrape on the ball. Definite pen and red. I thought Vardy played for the other a little more although that probably was too - and i thought so at the time.
ithuriel Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Def a penalty, Eddie Howe does talk bollocks, saying he could see it was not a penalty from where he was standing, he may be a good manager but he does most certainly talk shite at times.
Thracian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He came off at half time against Watford nine games ago and has played 22 minutes since. We hadn't scored by the time he came off against Watford and we went on to win. Since then we've beaten Newcastle and Swansea 3-0, Everton 3-2, Chelsea 2-1 and got creditable draws and Manchester's City and United. Jeff himself has contributed one goal and one assist. Defensively, we conceded 19 goals in the 12 matches Schlupp started and 6 goals in the 8 games he hasn't, those games including Man Utd, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Man City. Statistically at least it's difficult to make anything even approaching a compelling argument that we would be any better at either end of the pitch with Schlupp in the team. Our defensive improvement had little or nothing to do with Schlupp as a wide attacker, which is what we're talking about and you well know it. Our defensive improvement was down to the gradual establishment of Fuchs but even more to the introduction of Simpson on the right because of the number of times DeLaet ran himself out of position in places where he wasn't likely to be covered. Watching part of the game again it was clear that Bournemouth squeezed the space in defence and we were crying out for someone to attack fast down the space on the left before they could become fully organised and in the hope of finding some way behind them quickly. Dyer was meant to do that, I presume, but never got off the blocks. Anyway it's over now. I warned we were in for a scrap and that our fans should show Bournemouth more respect and so it turned out. We need reinforcements, in particularly to restore our pace and improve our scoring potential
suffolk fox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Christ some serious numpties on this board tonight Thracian what is wrong with you? We are second in the premier league and we have played some bloody good stuff this season. We draw at home to Bournemouth who have had some good results this season and the board goes into meltdown. All those that are saying Bournemouth deserved to win are either deluded or wind up merchants. Granted they missed two sitters but they missed them and Kasper didn't have a save to make all game not one save. We although playing not at our best missed a penalty and it was a definite penalty you cannot tackle from behind anymore regardless if you touch the ball or not anywhere else on the pitch a freekick is always given so a penalty is no exception. We should have had a second penalty also. We are still a bloody good team and I for one am proud of them and their efforts so far this season. We should have won that game today 2 0 unfortunately we didn't. Watching it again on motd highlights my points Bournemouth were hanging on. How anyone can say they deserved to win than they Themselves are truly deluded.
Fridgechef Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Was a great game, we were unlucky not to come out with the win. We are tired, but that is life I forsee we will be picking our selves up to usual within the next couple of games. You lot moan too much. Enjoy that we are 2nd. I would happily take 10th this season regardless of everything.
egg_fried_rice Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Unbiased friend was convinced ours was a peno. Still not sure myself. No matter though. We looked a bit tired today. Could do with some reinforcements. Great season so far, would be a shame to let that slip now. Kante is the best signing we've ever made.
jon1bc Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Calm down. Bournemouth set themselves up to get a 0-0 after the red card and they got it. It was a Christmas period game, hard slog against a determined, newly-promoted side. I think some of us have been a little spoiled by the season so far. This 100%. If Mahrez would have put away the penalty, the negativity here wouldn't exist. Don't think we played that bad, not our best game by any stretch but lets keep grounded...
Guest seanfox778 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Hopefully this is our little dip in form, we wouldn't of scored today if we were still playing now. It was just one of those days, we've made it to 40 points though!! We've achieved our aim and it's the beginning of January. I'd give Kram a run out against Spurs in the cup to see if he can offer us anything as the main striker in case Vardy gets injured/suspended.
