Leicester City v Bournemouth AFC post match thread 0 - 0

Leicester City given the league position of both teams should have won this game. Particularly when Bournemouth went down to 10 men victory should not have been a problem. To win the title teams placed as lowly as them should be beaten it really is as simple as that.

Can't believe some of you have said we missed Schlupp yesterday. Typical when we perform badly you always pick out a player who didn't play and say we missed him. Schlupp came on against Man Utd and was a shambles.

On MOTD Arsenal looked very poor at home. Scraped a 1 nil at home to a pisspoor relegation zone Newcastle. A week ago they lost 4 nil away to Soton.

Liverpool were also poor. Man United struggled at home to put away relegation fodder Swansea. Man City only played for the last 20 minutes against Watford.

We were not the only ones looking a bit lame this weekend.

Stoke, Liverpool, Man City and Everton all have double League cup games this month, as well as League and FA cup. No rest for their players. Both Arsenal and us have quieter January. A bit of rest and our lads will be fine, and with a couple of signings looking very lively again for February. We are going to keep our top 4 place, so chill out guys!

Two things for me were highly apparent yesterday.

1. Bournemouth could have been home and dry by half time. A better team in terms of finishing would have put away at least two of their first half chances. Then they'd have shut up shop. We were carved open too easily.

2. We ourselves weren't ruthless. Vardy should have scored. End of. And Mahrez should not be missing penalties. Score the penno and it was game over.

We DO look jaded and a little off sorts.

I think we need to freshen up with a couple of key signings. Not 'squad players'. We need a couple of fellas to push for the first team and to keep the current first team on their toes.

We've almost become a little complacent perhaps?

Yes we are second (fantastic) but if we would have won that game yesterday we'd have had more of a cushion.

Fine lines...

Morgan missing an open goal from 3 or 4 yards out and the Boruc save from JV,too.

Fine lines,as you say.

We have just come through the busiest, and for City the toughest, run of fixtures,so no surprise they look a bit listless.

Second in the table 40 points, enjoy!

The disappointment of failing to win is perhaps balanced out by the glorious moment when Vardy sent their puny little right-back back to Bournemouth with a shoulder charge, and the ref rightly let us play on.

I don't feel that Bournemouth are being given the credit they deserve. A team can only play as well as the opposition allow them to play & Bournemouth didn't allow us to play!

Credit also that they have beaten some 'top' teams recently. They haven't been in a position to spend millions on new players but they just happen to have one of the best managers in the game today. He is destined for the top imo & his tactics out-thought us & at times out-played us.

Also let's not forget that every team at some point in the season goes through a barren spell, maybe this is ours?

Agree with a lot of the posters that we are desperate to bring in at least a couple of new signings & priority has to be a partner to link up with Vardy.

Schlupp will bring us that extra dimension I believe. Why are Mahrez and Vardy not running at defences ??? Tired maybe. Vardy had flu reportedly. Get rid of Ulloa and give Kramaric a chance. Think we'll secure 5th place maybe more...next 6 games will determine it.

********NEWSFLASH********** Vardy is out for at least two weeks because he's having minor surgery ..... BBC WEBSITE POSTED JUST NOW

God i hate this forum sometimes. How are Bournmouth a terrible club? They play nice football and have had some good wins this season. I don't think it was anywhere as near as every one is going on about.

Still frustrated by this result.

Bournemouth were much better than us first half.

We looked better after the break with Ulloa coming off and Mahrez moving inside - we also looked to have a bit more urgency.

We were then gifted chance after chance to take all 3 points, and we blew them all. Many players looked tired and a shadow of their performances in November/early December.

Very frustrating game but these games happen to every club over a season where it just wouldn't go in. Lets not over react.

Ulloa and Dyer were absolutely woeful. Don't think Ulloa won a single header (even Vardy won some headers) His jumping was ridiculous where he was landing back on the ground when the ball actually reached him.

The less said about Dyer the better.

Just managed to watch MOTD and whilst the game appeared to be pretty average, how in the blue hell did the ref not give that 2nd penalty at the end? As clear as day.

Reminded me of the game up at their place. Deffo should have had another pen that day too.

I find posting on a football forum is very much like arguing with the mrs. No matter how rational or factual your argument you'll never be right lol. Best just nod and agree and then facepalm when she's not looking

Yes, that was rather disappointing. Seems like another proven forward is needed, for times like this when Vards is out and as a worthy striking partner for him. Ulloa lost his last season's form, Shinji is better than Leo but hard to rely upon and Kram is just wishful thinking I'm afraid. Still amazing run from The Foxes lads, safety reached. Hopefully CR gets his mojo back asap and will strengthen the squad a bit.

I'd rather have the players rested for FA Cup and concentrate on European football. COYF!

Arsenal lose to Southampton..... Man United lose to Norwich..... Liverpool lose to Watford.... We draw with Bournmouth..........

Ya know.....

Very noticable how Bornemouth were able to build play from the back far more effectively than us whilst it was 11 vs 11. Our central defenders are no nonsense and have stopped leaking goals but a ball playing centre back would add an extra dimension to our game and cut down on the seemingly relentless punts up field from Kasper.

To be fair it's probably because we had 7/8 men camped 10-30 yards from out goal most of the first half. You'll struggle to concede if you put up a wall like that. Not sure a ball playing cb would have much chance if he has nobody to aim for and the closer options are under pressure and only about 5 yards in front of them.

They didn't get that red card rescinded - did look harsh TBH but then as said above you should have had another one.

The other one wouldn't have anything to do with that one though as the player was already having a shower.

Did they extend the ban?

The only thing remotely open for question is where the first contact was made.  Anyone still making out like it wasn't a foul at all just betrays their lack of understanding of the game.
