Babylon Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 The player obviously doesn't want to come here ! If he really did he would be on his way Riiiiight.
MPH Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 It Musa been love, but it's over now... Maybe see you in the summer. Our hopes of signing him are fading like a flower....
Buzzell Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 The player obviously doesn't want to come here ! If he really did he would be on his way We've not had a bid accepted so we've not been able to talk to him to agree personal terms so your comment is absolute garbage. Plus I'm sure there's a source somewhere saying he's actually open to a move IF a bid is accepted.

Legend fox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Either pay the buy out clause. Or buy Aboubacar now before it is to late.
Dr The Singh Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Should of paid CSKA's demands. We were £5m off the mark, no way CSKA were going to let him go on the cheap
ImBlue Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 We were £5m off the mark, no way CSKA were going to let him go on the cheap Hence, pay the £5m. A top club would have paid it, small time mentality still unfortunately despite our lofty position.
Jaspa Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Hence, pay the £5m. A top club would have paid it, small time mentality still unfortunately despite our lofty position. Its not really just 5million quid though is it. Youre adding that on top of the 18m+ we offered and the chance that any other club watching it will see that we can be drawn out into paying what other clubs want us to. CSKA apparently wanted all the cash up front, no structured instalments, terms and maybe even a sell on fee. Even for how good Musa is and could be, is a big gamble we really dont need to do. The way I suspect it went : - agent suggests player is available and open to move (as Musa stated) - we were either interested before or are weighing him up as this report comes in - we test the water - CSKA see the interest and decide to draw us into their terms, they are in no need to sell - we go in again with a decent offer, if they wanted to cash in they would probably bite here - CSKA's eyes light up and reject, 'Ve vyll get de fool monies if do dis right, da da' - we offer 25mil euros. structured sensibly and fair - rejected as we wise up and decide its not worth it January is a sellers market, you have a chance at what other teams dont want unless you really want to empty your sack just after Christmas. The thing that puzzles me is why we didnt get anyone If we were supposedly desperate and with time to act. I'm sure our attackers will carry on cutting the cheese and this will make alot more sense to me. Sure names like this will become more familiar the further we get into the year
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Hence, pay the £5m. A top club would have paid it, small time mentality still unfortunately despite our lofty position. Then why did no other top club go after him, I wonder?
truebluethroughandthrough Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Hence, pay the £5m. A top club would have paid it, small time mentality still unfortunately despite our lofty position. What's a top club? I thought we were top, if you mean a big club then yes, they probably would. But, just because you shoot Jesse James, doesn't mean you're Jesse James.... We are punching well above our weight and surpassing all our expectations, and still we have a bunch of whiny spotty fm playing ungrateful little herberts. Here's a shock for you. I'm happy with our squad, you know, the one that's got us topping the league I honestly can't believe some of the immature bile I have read on here in the last couple of days. Just how short are your memories??
HighPeakFox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Then why did no other top club go after him, I wonder? Exactly
st albans fox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Think we'll get him in the summer. looking at our previous, i'm certain that we will
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Summer signing hopefully This with Hakim Ziyech & Aboubakar coming too then sell Ulloa.

Sure names like this will become more familiar the further we get into the year The extra £5 mill was to activate the release clause in his contract!? Granted CSKA can demand the money upfront with no instalments but they can't add add ons/ sell on % as we have activated the clause in Musa contract to be entitled to speak to us with no further discussion with CSKA needed
Babylon Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Hence, pay the £5m. A top club would have paid it, small time mentality still unfortunately despite our lofty position. For the final time, it wouldn't have been a case of just adding on £5m. The original bids would have been heavily filled with extras. The news out of Italy was the £4m alone of the Niang bid was related to us qualifying for the champions league, so it would be highly likely the Musa bid included something similar if not more. The £18m bid or whatever it was we were meant to put in could have included £5/6/7/8m worth of extras. They don't meet the release clause, only cold hard cash does. So we'd have to have stumped up the whole lot without extras, so an extra £5m could actually have been an extra £10/£12m. If we cannot afford that, then we can't afford it. It's as simple as that. It's not a small time mentality, it's a bloody realistic mentality of trying to run the club correctly.

Think about it you are giving the selling team the exact negotiation they've determined even before the player has even played a game for them. Its a projection of how much they will try to get if a club does come in for him. Demarai Grey was a different situation. Brum really wanted some money but its likely theres a sell on fee of some sorts sweeten it over time.
