Brown Fox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Premier League leaders Leicester City still want to sign Nigeria's Ahmed Musa despite having an initial bid rejected by CSKA Moscow, BBC Sport understands. The Russian side have rejected a $21.6m (£15.1m) offer as they hold out for a fee closer to their $27m (£18.9m) valuation of the forward. The 23-year-old is believed to be open to a move to Leicester. The Nigeria captain has a $32.5m (£22.8m) buyout clause in his contract, which runs until 2019. Leicester are expected to return with an improved bid for the player before the transfer window closes on 1 February. A former VVV Venlo player, Musa has scored 10 goals in 29 games this season and 11 times in 56 appearances for Nigeria. Musa, who made his international debut against Madagascar in September 2010, scored twice in Nigeria's 3-2 loss to Argentina at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He scored the county's fastest-ever goal at a World Cup - netting after four minutes - before becoming their first player to score twice in one game at the tournament. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35409699

shen Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Not a prolific goalscorer, but the stuff I've seen of him he's very pacy and has decent technique. Very high price though!
Darkon84 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Not a prolific goalscorer, but the stuff I've seen of him he's very pacy and has decent technique. Very high price though! Hasn't he been deployed more out wide in the last season or so, rather than a striker, which he originally was?
KFS Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Can someone have a word with the scouting team and remind them about the bloody AFCON please?!
FoxyLurvin' Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 He'll never win any headers but will outrun pretty much anyone in the BPL in a sprint - Even Vards! One for the future??
EnderbyFox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Wow, where has this came from? Can't remember BBC being a first source for any of our transfers
FoxyLurvin' Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 He'll probably not win many headers but he'll outrun pretty much anyone in BPL with his pace! One for the future?
Benguin Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Talented and would be a good squad player but for 18 mill when we're looking for a good goal scoring option I would go somewhere else
lgfualol Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 It seems revealing that Ranieri wanted a striker. We have been linked with every striker. He seems decent though. Living in Russia as a Nigerian must not be that much fun.
Jaspa Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Wasnt he shit hot against Argentina in the World Cup? Hate looking through rumors when they go through this stage, linked with anyone and everyone by the hour
Finnegan Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Was really only a matter of time before this popped up after the Doumbia rumour.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 He'll probably not win many headers but he'll outrun pretty much anyone in BPL with his pace! One for the future? You can say that again
Guest ttfn Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Was really only a matter of time before this popped up after the Doumbia rumour. Before you know it we'll have converted Obafemi Martins into a central midfielder.
Finnegan Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Leicester to become the most played as and most hated team on fifa.
kingfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Big Russian clubs always slap ridiculous prices on certain players. Would be one massive gamble.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 The one thing I got from this above everything - he has good movement off the ball, natural instincts of where to be, the ideal sort of quality for us and the premier league. Let's go get him!
Ric Flair Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 We'll get bum raped next January when the AFCON is on. Hahahaaaa top to bottom of the league in a year again, weduntgehafcuk
Babylon Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I like the look of him from the videos, pacy, skillful, composed, can pick a pass and a decent finisher.
