World Snooker Championship 2016

Maybe this puts Selby getting through against a qualifier in perspective. Given how long those frames went on (in succession) I thought both played really, really well.

It's one thing flicking balls in every 15 seconds on a break, but to have to play in turn, getting up and down, thinking hard about each shot and then executing is much, much harder.

This Ronnie Hawkins match is exceptional standard, one mistake from either player and you have lost the frame. Brilliant stuff, be interesting to see if Hawkings can keep the standard up

So Judd fails to back up his tweet and is made to look like a tit, brilliant to watch on his day but getting cocky like that will lose him respect.

Hopefully Ding makes the final from the top half, don't really want to see Higgins, Williams or McManus in the final.

As for tonight Hawkins vs Ronnie final session is going to be a cracker, must watch.

Ding was a bit of a tit during that match as well though... Think it was a tactic to play on in frames despite being in positions where several snookers were needed and in fairness - it worked, it got to Judd.

I read the Trump tweet as a bit of self deprecating humour. He had shit starts to two matches and was making a joke of it. I really don't think he was claiming he could give Ding a 4 frame lead.

Great chance for another Leicester win if Selby can get past Wilson, I think he's a real danger however.

Wilson looks like a great young player for sure, but I think I fancy Selby for the title.. unbelievable the players that are already out.

Hopefully Selby or Hawkins go onto win now; however I have a sneaky feeling Higgins might win it though, he seems to be playing well again.

Looking at the draw though my dream final would be Ding vs Selby or Hawkins. If Fu or Wilson cause an upset then fair play, but if Ding doesn't make it out the top half I'll be a little annoyed.

Someone finally gets it.

Ding will fork it at some point hopefully he's another one who has had a garbage season, good as win as it was yesterday.

Wilsons tought match and Selby was proper shite in parts of his last game but its certainly winnable.

McManus through to the semis. He's not been that far for about 20 years. Didn't expect that.

Edit: actually nearer 25 years. It was 1993!

So there's never been an Asian in the final and now this year it could be an all Asian final.

Also this year will definitely end a run of the last 4 being all English finals.

I hope Selby does it from here. He looked better against a tricky opponent in Wilson and I find he gets better as tournaments go on. Ding is the danger for me, although he is known to capitulate at some point and is bound to again.
