Koke Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 I thought Okazaki was worse than Mahrez but they were both pretty bad. Is it worth trying Ulloa against West Ham? Okazaki has been shocking in the last couple of games.

Okazaki has been shocking in the last couple of games. harsh on okazaki that, he was involved in some of our better passing moves and got behind their defence a few times, definitely dont think he should be behind schmeichel in the ratings when schmeichel had one save to make and his distribution was pretty poor. Agree on previous post about albrighton as well, thought he was one of our best players first half and shouldnt be behind drinkwater who i thought had one of his poorer games actually.

chrisawhitmore Posted 15 April 2016 Posted 15 April 2016 Schmeichel had a much poorer game than this suggests. The distribution was all over the place. Also, I feel like a lot of Okazaki's problem was that he was a lot shorter than his marker and he kept being sent aerial balls to deal with, which isn't his fault.

Really?? made a couple of decent games and kept a clean sheet, his kicking has been ropey all season so you cant really judge him on that.

It was most of what he did. One save of any difficulty doesn't make a good game. He has to be judged on what he actually did, and what he did was mostly spooning goal kicks of into the middle of nowhere. The clean sheet was mostly the work of our defence and their strikers.

Testament to the defence really that he didnt have anything to do

Saying this though I do think that his energy and defensive play is essential for our style of play and he would be in my team every week

Saying this though I do think that his energy and defensive play is essential for our style of play and he would be in my team every week It's just crazy to me I still see people say this about Albrighton and people still can't see just how much he brings to the team and how much he creates for us! He's the 7th top chance creator in the division and our top chance creator by a decent distance. As point of comparison: Chances created this season: Albrighton 60 (1 chance every 43mins) Mahrez 48 (1 chance every 55mins) Vardy 45 (1 chance every 64mins) Drinkwater 39 (1 chance every 69mins) Again, look at yesterday, he created great chances for Okazaki but he fluffed them or else should've had a stone-wall penalty. Whereas Drinkwater creates one chance for Vardy and Vardy finishes it superbly - assists are as much about the player finishing them or creating them and honestly, I think the only reason Albrighton doesn't have as many assists as Mahrez is not his fault but simply the fact other players haven't put his chances away as much. Can think of plenty of other chances this season he's put on a plate for people which they've fluffed - Vardy missing 2 sitters from his balls against ManCity, Vardy and Okazaki both hitting the bar from free headers for his chances against West Brom, ... I think Vardy "stealing" his assist against Norwich with the faintest of touches which didn't change the path of the ball pretty much summed up how unlucky he's been not to be one of the top assisters in the division alongside Mahrez. Albrighton was our most creative player on Sunday and I completely agree what others have said that he should've been top 3 rated players along with Vardy and Kante. The only reason Drinkwater is ahead of him is because Vardy finished his chance created so he got the assist. But Albrighton clinically opened up Sunderland's defence 2 or 3 times but with no finish at the end of it so he's not given the credit than an assist gets. He's ridiculously underrated by some people I still think. Don't understand how people still can't see how well he's playing at the moment. He creates 2 clear cut opportunities pretty much every game.

Seconded though I would argue Huth was better as well as I thought Huth maintained his level both half while Albrighton was not as influential in second half.
