tartanowl Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Firstly it has been a while (sorry daddy duty has taken precedence) but you really have come on such a long long way since I used to post on here fairly regularly when we both had spells in League 1 and at the lower ends of the Championship. I just wanted to wish you all the best for the weekend and to say I will be sinking a celebratory pint for you when you win the title. Hopefully my little lad and I can look forward to welcoming the Champions of England to Hillsborough on the first game of the season after the summer. I've been absolutely amazed at your season and I'm delighted for you the fans, your club, and Leicester City. This is the best thing to happen to English football probably in my lifetime and it would be amazing if you could do it and get the final points at Old Trafford. Here's to us meeting again next season and poor old Lamby I bet he is gutted. Best of luck and I can assure you Sheffield is 100% behind you for the match against United!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Thanks for such kind words. Hopefully Sheff Wed will gain promotion back to the top flight this season, you're a big club with a great fanbase. Certainly worthy of being back in the top flight. I'd very much welcome playing you again as I think the Owls are a proper club. All the best.
ian_marshall Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Thanks OP. You guys have had a great season too and I hope that you manage to navigate your way through the playoffs particularly if it's at the expense of the Sheep :-). It'd be great to see you back in the top tier as you genuinely are one of the teams (Along with Leeds but you'll probably disagree on that one) that has the history and fan base to be worthy of a spot in the top division. Hopefully we get a trip up to Hillsborough next season. Best wishes for the future.
Tuna Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Oh yes would love to see Sheffield Wednesday back in the prem. Derby - NO. Middlesbrough / Hull - smelly and ugly.
Aus Fox Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Would love to see Sheff Wed back where they belong and leave the pigs where they belong too...
Spudulike Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Cheers, TartanOwl. I know that 'Peoples Champions' sounds cheesy but I really get the feeling that we have ( ) struck a massive blow for clubs like ours and others. Love how real fans have joined with us to give a big fat middle finger to the media and establishment. Perhaps the glass ceiling has been broken, who knows, but at least it demonstrates that it can be done. Respect.
Ozwin Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 TartanOwl! Get your boys in the Prem where they belong! Not many clubs who've had it as bad as you lot in the past decade, similar in a lot of ways to Leicester.
Benguin Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Please please please win the play offs! Would love The owls back in the prem!
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Get promoted get rid of the bloke you have and get Nige in and you'll be every Leicester fans second team guaranteed.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 I have liked Sheffield Wednesday, since the early 60s. A side that has tradition in the top league, and a superb stadium to match. Good luck in the promotion stakes.
lestajigs Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 I'm hoping for Brighton, burnley, and sheff wed to come up
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Just noticed Sheff Wed have today confirmed a play off place after a win against Cardiff.
foxes21 Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Want Brighton, Boro & Wednesday to go up. Can't stand another year of listening to Sean Dyche go on about pound notes.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 @@tartanowl Nice to see one of former players give you a helping hand today... even if that wasn't his intention. What's your manager situation at the moment - is Carlos Carvalhal just not keen on taking the full title? Wondered whether good ol Nige could end up there (although maybe not if MM is still around the club. If he is - is he still as mad as a bag of spanners)? All the best for the coming weeks. Here's hoping whatever happens in the playoffs, you end up with a better kit supplier than Sondico!
stretch1965 Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Big soft spot for your club fella, thanks for the kind words
Guest Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Agree with @@foxes21 Boro, Brighton and Sheff Weds would be my preferred 3.
laceyb86 Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Amen to this! Here's to us. We can do this at Old Trafford tomorrow.

And I'll echo what others have said. Would love to see Wednesday back in the Prem. Sheffield Weds are my guilty pleasure in Football Manager. Always enjoyed away days at Hillsborough - used to be some good pubs! Good win yesterday. Stay tucked in that 6th position and you should see off whoever blows automatic promotion and finished 3rd!
tartanowl Posted 1 May 2016 Author Posted 1 May 2016 Thanks for all the kind words. We've done our bit yesterday by sealing our place and I think we've got the quality and goals in our team to beat anyone in the playoffs. Again best of luck today Leicester lads and lasses and enjoy it. @@tartanowl Nice to see one of former players give you a helping hand today... even if that wasn't his intention. Here's hoping whatever happens in the playoffs, you end up with a better kit supplier than Sondico! When Carlos first joined we had a committee that sat under the chairman who advised him on football matters and signings etc, and Carlos did the day to day management. Most of the committee are now gone though and it's changed a bit. Carlos has really changed the ethos at the club and got us playing some excellent football. He has achieved a huge amount in just one season, he has everyone on-side, he gets on really well with Chansiri, the spirit amongst the team is the best I've known it in decades, and there's a genuine belief in what he is trying to achieve. Even with his Wednesday legend status as a player I wouldn't want Pearson back. Carlos is the man that will take us up. Mandaric has gone now too, and like Leicester we also now have Thai owners. Chansiri the sponsor on our shirt is the owner's name, he owns Thai Union Group (John West Tuna is one of their brands) and he is worth a lot of money. A lot more than Mandaric! Chansiri has invested millions in the squad, a million pounds on a new desso pitch, and we've now got the biggest screen/scoreboard in the football league. The club has changed a lot over the last 12 months. And bizarrely the Sondico shirts are probably the best we've had in 15-20 years. I thought they would be crap too but they custom design our kits because we are their flagship and biggest club, so we don't get a template kit like we would if Nike/Puma/Adidas made them for us. The quality of material has actually surprised me too.

Most people I know, like myself are desperate for you to win. It's a great football story and you absolutely deserve it.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 Thai owners are the future Tartan ;-) Sounds like the club is in a good place again though, which is excellent news come what may and who knows we might get a chance to go and visit your massive scoreboard next season (he he, love the pride you, posted that with!)
Spudulike Posted 1 May 2016 Posted 1 May 2016 One thing is for sure, if you meet up with Derby in the play-offs then you'll be getting support from us
