-MaTaN- Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 This article in the Israeli press says that Ranieri has talked with Dembélé and tried to convince him to come, But the boy wants to join Dortmund.http://www.one.co.il/Article/15-16/3,5,50,0/270497.html?ref=hp
tsintskaro Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/ranieri-personally-speaks-to-liverpool-target-to-convince-him-of- anyway,i dont think there is much chance this boy comes here
FrankieADZ Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 be a hell of a signing if we manage to get him here, I'd be very surprised if we did though, as alot of clubs are after him
les-tah Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Too many elite clubs after him tbf haha! But just image the sort of midfielders we will have. Defenders will be terrified.
what? Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/668467/Claudio-Ranieri-Phone-Call-Ousmane-Dembele-Rennes-Leicester-Transfer-News-Liverpool The soap opera begins
Gerard Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Please get this one over the line. He's arguably the best "wonderkid" in world football. I just hope Ranieri can overwhelm him with charm and point to our record of how we have improved so many players here with our sports science team, coaching, camaraderie, etc. What a statement it would be if we signed the "new Ronaldo".
Foxymcoxy Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 This seems a little ambitious. Only real chance is if he decides this is the best place for him to get starts straight away.
what? Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 It's not totally out of the question I suppose. With the tv money we cold outspend most of the foreign clubs, if we really thought he was worth it, and if Liverpool are after him we could point to Benteke as an example of how being a big money signing doesn't mean you won't rot away on the bench and waste a season. We could offer him regular first team football and the chance to play in the champions league. Where would we play him though, he's right wing isn't he? Do we move Mahrez inside or put this lad somewhere else?

A Mahrez/Vardy hybrid if you like.
Babylon Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Probably beyond us on this one, but the press Kante and Mahrez have got won't go unnoticed to players. We'll been seen as a team as a team that gives people and chance and improves them.
les-tah Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Have we had permission to talk to him do we think? on that note i hope Liverpool dont get in the champions league next season!

We'll been seen as a team as a team that gives people and chance and improves them. It's our one hope of signing him really. He's only turns 19 next week and his career may benefit coming to a club like Leicester and getting a good grounded football education rather than going to a super club. We've signed a few sou's ears and turned them into silk cloths and that shouldn't be underestimated by a player making his way in the game. He could still get a move to Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc when he's 21 rather than going to one of these type of clubs and being a small fish in a big pond and being used sparingly. Hopefully he'll see the next couple of years are all about investment in his career rather than getting everything now.
Gerard Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Have we had permission to talk to him do we think? on that note i hope Liverpool dont get in the champions league next season! I hope they don't for another reason. Apparently the English CL clubs get a set amount of money but it's divided by how many CL clubs we have. So for example if there is £100m in the pot: 3 clubs get £33.3m each 4 clubs get £25m each 5 clubs get £20m each So for that reason I'll be cheering on Sevilla in the Europa League final and whoever draws our 4th placed team in the CL play off.
cityfanlee23 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 For those who have not seen him..... You can pick your Jaws up now.
foxes21 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 does he track back?!?!?! Mahrez-Deeney-Dembele-Vardy combo does sound lethal tho

He wants to gradually work his way up rather than jumping straight to a 'super club', see him turning down Marseille & PSG for Le Havre. Wasn't there someone else in for Mahrez when we signed him? It was someone like Torino, a side who at the time were better than us.
cityfanlee23 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 does he track back?!?!?! Mahrez-Deeney-Dembele-Vardy combo does sound lethal tho No, Which makes him mahrez mark 2! In all seriousness he would need to work on tracking back, according to sources like scout nation and other player market sites tracking back is his downside... That said though Mahrez has tracked back alot more in the last 6 weeks so hopefully we could get someone like demebe to do it as he's young and impressionable

what? Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 For those who have not seen him..... You can pick your Jaws up now. Pretty sure we'd be breaching some kind of rules if we played him and Riyad together. Definitely wouldn't be fair on the other teams
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Will probably be up with Kante and Ibrahimovich as the most in demand player of the window, the difference is he will definitely go and go somewhere big.
