We need a few extra additions maximum to give us that extra bit of class for what awaits next season. The majority with contracts expiring haven't been offered a new one for a reason. We should be aiming higher and poaching the decent few players that we need.

I'd absolutely love that. Agreed. Same with Albiol and Honda. Can't help but think they may be swayed by other big clubs across Europe though should they leave their respective clubs. Some of these players will be looking beyond just next year though. So as much as can offer CL for a season as a pulling point, not everyone will take us up on it just for a season. Other clubs (mainly around Europe and not necessarily in England) can and most likely will play CL for more than just 2016/17 season. Would like to sign Arnautovic and Redmond, though. Think they'd fit our squad and have the right attitude for us. Arnautovic a bit too injury prone though?

So we'd be going into the season with Mahrez/Albrighton/Gray/Schlupp/New Winger. Is 5 wingers too much, or is it necessary next season? We do have five wingers atm if we include Dyer in the current squad.

Could be useful in the champions league next year if we are ahead in a game and need to play a little differently. If not tho. I can see inler having a bigger role to play next year.

cityfanlee23 Posted 9 May 2016 Author Posted 9 May 2016 Obviously I'm not saying get all of them, but we will obviously be looking into the free transfer market, and of those out of contract this summer, we should seriously be looking at the likes of Carrick (who would be massive in big games for us in the CL) Vilhenna (only 21 and already class) Van der wiel (RB @ PSG) Mandanda (give kasper real competition and coach the youngsters) N'koulou (class CB) Feghouli (this sort of player on a free is very rare) Although I'd love to see Menez here, always loved him, would be pretty cheap too.

StanSP Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Menez won't be cheap. Also, as much as we'd like players to be 'back-up', that doesn't mean they want to be back-up here! E.g. I can't imagine Tim Krul or Mandanda being satisfied to sit on the bench.

Not sure he will, they got him on a free and has had a pretty poor season, 1 year left they may look to just offload. 10 apps this season on the back of an injury.

Yep agree, I do think Inler might have a bigger role for us next season, unless we purchase any more CM's (i.e Carrick)
