An Away Move Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Just read in the Guardian that Vardy has postponed an operation on his wrist until after the Euros. Apparently his broken wrist has not set properly and it needs re-setting. Great for England. Less good for us. Understandable though. Hopefully we won't miss him that much as we'll have another top quality striker in by then.
Innovindil Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Played more than enough games for us with a busted hand. Will take a lot to keep him out imo.
kushiro Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Anyone know how long he would need after that operation before he could start training? I very much doubt it would be longer than the break he would have anyway. I've posted on this before, but if England get to the later stages of Euro 2016, Vardy will miss the pre-season games anyway. Could be similar for Drinkwater, Schmeichel, Kante...

Ric Flair Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 He has ben wearing what appears to be a bigger cast in the last few weeks so it's obviously flared up again. I don't want him to miss any of next season but I also want him to rip it up in the Euros so out of the two if it meant he missed the opening few games I suppose I could live with it.

Ric Flair Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 fooking hope he doesnt have to take a penalty in a shoot out after last week Hahahahaaa he's perfect for England.
les-tah Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 with the summer break im struggling to see how he would miss the start of the season?! This Day and age wrist surgery would not stop a top flight player playing football.... especially as he will have time after euros.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 fooking hope he doesnt have to take a penalty in a shoot out after last week I hope he does because generally he is a great penalty taker, just blasts it that is what you need to do
kushiro Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 fooking hope he doesnt have to take a penalty in a shoot out after last week Remember what Gareth Southgate's mum said in 1996? "Why didn't you just belt it?!" She'd like our Jamie.
Staffs Fox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 The key there is IF England do well, With Hodgeosaurus in charge, Jamie will be home in plenty of time to have his operation, recover fully, go on holiday, write his memoirs and design and manufacture the #Chatshitgetbanged Clothing line to sit in Fenwicks window, Plus he'll probably only get 20 mins total on the left wing

Roy's going to play him as an out and out striker, Vardy will cherish it and start banging them in and actually win us the thing to complete his Roy of the Rovers story!
Ric Flair Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Wasn't he only out for a week the last time? That was for a minor groin injury. Resetting a broken bone can be much longer. Hopefully it can be done in early July and he's back fully fit by middle of August, he'll surely be able to at least get his fitness up wearing a protective cast whilst it heals and then can start playing as the season starts.
Countryfox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Yes. The article did mention that it may well affect our start to the season if England do well. Nothing to worry about then .... since when did Ingerland do well ! ... the odds of us winning the Euros have got to be about ... say 5000/1.
foxy boxing Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 no doubt he'll be back on the plane home in no time, with woy in charge w'ell get knocked out at the quarter finals vardy will have plenty of time to rest and mend up before the start of the new season.plus hopefully we will have a top class striker on board as well
Countryfox Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 Nothing to worry about then .... since when did Ingerland do well ! ... the odds of us winning the Euros have got to be about ... say 5000/1. I'll answer that for all you younger FT'ers ... it was 1966 ... a time before the motor car was invented and phones were big heavy things in the corner of the room.
Vulpecula Posted 13 May 2016 Posted 13 May 2016 I primarily hope it's sorted properly for him next time around for his own benefit - I wouldn't want him suffering from something like arthritis later in life. A week or two next season of us missing him is secondary imo and hopefully we have enough about us to cope.
