Samilktray Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Sack Woy tomorrow morning and bring in Van Gaal to see us through the tournament. He'll bring Tom Heaton on and he'll save a penalty and we might win a game.
Dan Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Experiment spoilt by Bruno Alves. What on earth was going through his head I have no idea. Even so it was pretty worrying again. Another poor performance where the result will no doubt paper over it. If he starts with that side against Russia I don't think I'll fancy us.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Im glad the experiment got spoiled. It was tepid enough in the first half, let alone the absolute shower in the 2nd half. Portugal were the worst of the 3 friendly opponents. They were absolutely dire, they had absolutely zero intent to even create a chance, let alone threaten us. I wanted to see with the 10 men, us zip the ball about, use some width, feed the strikers and show some energy. Then i realised we had no wide players, we dont use the strikers properly, and we played at walking speed. And Rooney was half decent! no point bashing him
Leicesterpool Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Vardy just doesn't get the service, the team just seemed refuse to pass it too him. Milner looked totally knackered, over weight and too slow. How on earth he's still being considered is beyond me. He was good player about five or six years ago but since he's offered nothing. Sturridge looked very nervous when he came on, seemed like he knows himself he's probably very vulnerable at the moment. Portugal for a test were disappointing they didn't offer nothing and seemed happy to play for a draw. Even before they went to ten men. Another day England would have hammered these.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 It shouldnt be about setting everything up JUST for Vardy, its England, not Leicester. Both strikers were utilised poorly.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Hoddle's on the highlights show. This should be fun.
Wymsey Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Don't know whether these players as a team together are not gelling, or just saving their energy for the Euros where they'll really give it a good go. Currently Villa would have a chance of beating them. Bland as mud.
AKCJ Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 The problem is with our shit squad, is that there arent enough round pegs to fit 11 round holes. Hart Walker Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Henderson Wilshere Alli Vardy Kane Easy.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Hart Walker Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Henderson Wilshere Alli Vardy Kane Easy. And you think thats a decent team?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 They all look really miserable. I don't blame them, listening to Hodgson speak for two minutes in an interview makes me want to just die. Imagine having to spend all day every day with that bumbling imbecile. A big difference from that Germany game - when a certain somebody didn't play!
Simmo86 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 And you think thats a decent team? It's the best we can put out.
StanSP Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 And you think thats a decent team? It's the best we can put out. This.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 It's the best we can put out. So having watched these games, and actually seen how the game pans out when we play a diamond, youd still play a diamond?
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 How many times did Rooney lose the ball with a crap pass or break up an attack by passing backwards? Loads. If anyone else did that, they'd be dropped from a great height. Why not Rooney? Why?

If anyone else did that, they'd be dropped from a great height. Why not Rooney? Why? I honestly think Rooney was one of the better players. At least he tried to make something happen what the fuhk did Kyle Walker do to be MOTM? Portugal carried as much attacking threat as Andorra.
AKCJ Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 And you think thats a decent team? Don't you? Players playing in their natural positions when they're in form. With the squad he's chosen, that's the best we've got. Of course if he'd picked Drinkwater and Noble then they'd be in for Wilshere and Henderson.
AKCJ Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 So having watched these games, and actually seen how the game pans out when we play a diamond, youd still play a diamond? I'd play a diamond properly. Not this absolute shite that Roy is implementing where the strikers don't actually play as strikers. Width from the fullbacks (two attacking fullbacks), Dier covers the defence and Alli plays in the hole where he can cause mayhem.

Portugal carried as much attacking threat as Andorra. Rooney was playing so negatively though. He provided no service and broke up too many attacks. Not the right position for him to play in but he's not good enough to play up front anymore. Better options.

Offers nothing creatively, offers no width, exposes two of the weakest players in the team in the full back positions, would probably see the two strikers splitting again to cover the full backs. Weve tried lineups close to this already, and theyve already been rubbish.

A diamond come 3-5-2 - yes, that might work... but what's the point, we won't see anything decent from Hodgson, he had his starting 11 in that Germany game.

Don't talk out your arse mate
AKCJ Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 "Where Alli can cause mayhem" Delusions of grandeur there i think. Behave lad. Alli scored 10 and assisted 11 in that position this season.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 You mean like when we beat the world champions on their own turf with that exact formation/team (barring Wilshere)? Don't talk out your arse mate Oh yeah, how stupid of me. That one game alone shows us that we are at least as good, if not better than the world champions. Almost as if we didnt get totally fvcked over 2-0 in the first half too. Funny how a diamond vs Turkey and Portugal looks absolutely abject isnt it. AKCJ for England manager. Hes always right.
Donut Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Behave lad. Alli scored 10 and assisted 11 in that position this season. Its your use of the word MAYHEM Like he will morph into Lionel Messi and destroy the whole of Europe. It aint Sunderland and Norwich where he is governing the game for the better team of the two on the pitch is it
