I thought that too. I have a Polish female colleague with the surname Frankowska.

I worked for a couple, the husband was of Polish descent and the cheque from their joint account had the differently spelt names on it. I asked them and they told me it was like that.

Me too. My bro-in-laws wife is Polish, so I know this is true... however his name ends stka not ska... not sure why. I'll ask her when I see her.

Not all Polish names are like that, though: e.g. Boniek, Boruc, Milik...

Could be a name that isn't purely Polish: e.g. there are Czech names ending in "-a", like Panenka, Nehoda....?

Eidur Gudjonsen's dad was called Arnor Gudjonsen. By Icelandic customs he'd normally have been Eidur Arnorsson.

Sometimes there are just exceptions?

Is this a new magic spell you're trying?

Nah.  But randomly shouting "Announce [insert name]" is what Arsenal seem to think works.

I don't doubt the chap knows how to spell his own name. If he says it's Kapustska, it's Kapustka. It's just a little curiosity that's all.

This waiting is driving me up the pole. Any News other than Fathers and Wives names?

May be our Polish fans have some news?

Ukraine your neck out if you like, Webbo, but I'm Hungary to know and am willing to Greece his palm.

OK if he wants to Mol-d-ova for a few minutes, but it's a bit Bulgar of him to keep us waiting. In fact, Iraq my brains to think of a bigger Turkey.

fair points

i guess we could chip in and buy him some Belgium Chocolates to sweeten the deal, if he feels bad about it he could go Dutch and offer us half. Don't want to feel Swissed out of any deals.

we can't keep Romanian around looking for the right buy. We must Be United in our States about who to get.

there is Norway I can take much more of this

All Polish people seem to speak English. English and vodka! Super people too, at least the ones I've met.
