The frustration of no new transfer links leads to fans pleading for a signing even if we have to bid over the odds, then as soon as news comes through we are prepared to do that fans moan that it's too much. Can't fcukin win. This is the last week of the transfer window, it's bedlam. We've proven we are weak as it draws to a close, given our net transfer spend so far we can afford to pay this sort of money for a proven PL player even if it's probably £10 million too much. Much rather we get that target in than fanny about and miss out. N'Zonzi has been on our radar for a while and it seems he's keen which is important. It's easier said than done just finding new targets quickly, we have a vey thorough process.

He is exactly what we're looking for; strong, powerful, imposing, excellent tackler and interceptor, good distributor and never over plays the ball.

I say again, stop bleating on about the bloody money. It's not yours, it's the clubs and they have it. If he's the right player, and will make us stronger, pay it and get him.

Guest Bilo Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 N'Zonzi seems to fancy us, Stoke fans adored him, he's exactly the type of player we're calling out for and he has European as well as PL experience. £25m seems a lot, but look at the market. We have to accept that, for a team in our position, bargains like Kante at £5.6m are going to be nigh on impossible to come by now with the amount of money floating around. Look at Stones' mammoth transfer fee for starters. I'd say get him in, he's just what we need to give us a nasty bastard in midfield.

RoyFox Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Even though I'd like Paredes, Nzonzi is more of a 'sure thing'. He's played in the PL, he's at his peak and his team beat a lot of decent sides in the Europa League and La Liga. £25m for Nzonzi is better value than a lot of the deals down so far. He's nearly on a par with Xhaka IMO
