MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Most Italian news sites are reporting Juve not interested...except the one saying they are raising their offer.
irishmenfox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I did say that the N'Zonzi rumour was smokescreen for another deal which we now know is Silva. Ranieri is a clever man, he probably has contacts at every major European club, Sevilla included. He probably knew that N'Zonzi wasn't going to leave Sevilla which is why we haven't seen the board pay his buy out clause yet when we know the board can afford it. No point paying the release clause when the player was only going to reject the approach anyway. He probably deliberately let the media run with the N'Zonzi story so no other teams would get involved in the running for the true target, Silva. You would be surprised at how many clubs decide to get involved once they find out their rivals are targeting a particular player to get a morale win over their rivals.
STUHILL Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Silva is no doubt a great player but I still wouldn't mind if we end up signing N'zonzi after all this. Would be nice to have some added height and strength in midfield and someone who can play more of a defensive role, to shield the back 4. Silva seems similar to Drinkwater/Mendy and so unless Amartey can continue to play like he did at the weekend, we may end up short of midfielders with some much needed defensive qualities. Silva may even be a smoke screen to try and push the N'zonzi deal through.

Poor N'Zonzi if true, I'm sure this would be the second time we have used him for a smokescreen although I think the first time may have been to do Stoke a favour and raise Sevilla's bid for him in exchange for Robert Huth.
Swarles Barkley Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Sevilla pull out of deal to sell iborra to sunderland. Perhaps because Nzonzi could be going...
Tielemans63 Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Sevilla have a habit of playing the transfer market brilliantly. We could do with finding out who they are planning to replace N'Zonzi with and just buy that guy

STUHILL Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 Shame. Really thought he would had the qualities we needed in CM. All eyes on Silva now then!
