Dan Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Great business from Sevilla as usual. Bought him for just £7mil last year. However, I'd take him here. I always rated N'Zonzi at Stoke, always thought he was one of the leagues most under-rated players. Technically good and a physical powerhouse, like a better Huddlestone. It's a lot of money but there's a void in that midfield and he fills it. Do it.
RoyFox Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Also we will have done all the scouting for him IMO, we don't really buy players unless they have been watched on several occasions.
Lesteban Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 N'Zonzi bossed it against us for Stoke before he left for Spain. I like him, but if you'd have said £25m a year ago, I'd say it was crazy money. I'm not sure if the market has shifted enough for that to be a sensible price now.... Doubt it, but if he is who we have identified as our top midfield target, then we should pay it.

Lesteban Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Drinky, N'Zonzi, Mendy Mahrez, Vardy, Musa would be a nice 4-3-3.
JamesfromlondonLCFC Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 wants premier league proven, doesnt want to pay for premier league proven. hilarious
TheSomersetFox Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Would they really let him go after losing Krychowiak to PSG earlier this summer too? No idea if they've strengthened in that area since though

ARM1968 Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Expensive but good player. Not quite Kante but getting there.
Collymore Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Get this done ASAP. Prices are only going to go up the closer we get to transfer deadline day. £25m is peanuts in relation to where we're at at the moment.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Don't get me wrong I'm fully on board with the idea of Nzonzi, but starting to wonder where this would leave Amartey. As Mendy is injured, I'd have thought Amartey might get his chance in a midfield two with Drinkwater (he might still). It's just we'd be getting in a player in Nzonzi who again is described as a 'defensive midfielder,' meaning Amartey isn't near the first choice spot again. I just hope he's happy enough here because I reckon he's going to be very good. Having said that, both him and Kapustka are similar in the fact they've still got years ahead of them to develop, so they could well be in the future first team plans. So looking at this, if this deal were to happen, our centre midfield would look like this: Drinkwater, Mendy, James, Amartey, King and Nzonzi. I also believe Kapustka can play in the CM role.
crisp packet Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Just pay the money and get it done! release clause....
Stevosevic Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Would he be interested? They're in the CL as well.

I don't buy into overspending for the sake of it and saying "well they overspent too" to justify it but we need a midfielder and we've found a bloke that just about fits the bill in every way. It's expensive but we can afford to spend a bit. Get it done.

We will get a clear idea of Amartey's role in the squad once the window closes. Right now there are too many variables such as, signing another CM = Amartey at RB, or James leaving on loan = Amartey as 4th/5th choice CM, signing a RB = Amartey as CM. Come the end of deadline day, we should be certain what position Amartey will be competing for
Harry96 Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 Id pay 20m max for him but he's a great player and good physical presence which we have been lacking, would be a great signing
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 I'm not sure seems a lot of wonga but he might just be the player we need?

STUHILL Posted 24 August 2016 Posted 24 August 2016 YES YES YES! This is the player I have wanted all summer. 27, Prem experience, CDM. Get it done. 25 Million is a lot but the prices this year have been ridiculous and I say just get it done before someone like West Ham or Everton swoop in and we are left with King starting most the season. Him and Slimani and I would be absolutely chuffed. Percy is not usually far off but strange that we are only 'considering' a move for him. Hopefully that means we are in early talks. Sevilla surely couldn't turn down that kind of money!
Sly Posted 25 August 2016 Posted 25 August 2016 His release clause is €30,000,000. People waiting for a £:€ shift to save cash.
