Would be a great signing. Was one of the most effective players I saw in the 2014/2015 season. Only been in there a year, maybe he likes it in England as he spent 6 years here prior to his move.

This place. ****ing hell.

I don't normally do the ranting about experience in the premier league, etc. But are there people really unhappy we'd spend twenty odd million on Nzonzi but want us to pay twenty odd million for one of two largely untried kids in Lemina and Paredes?

Seriously?

Given our need for an extra class midfielder this would be among the most solid signings we could make, given his pedigree and Prem know-how. Signing Nzonzi would give me a very confident feeling about this season. As others have already said, if we are to make one expensive signing, let this be the one.

One other plus is that it ought to be do-able in the short time left in the transfer window as compared with other supposed links where there are complications.

If you could have offered me one realistic signing after Kante left, this would have been it.

It's going to take a lot of money to get it over the line though, both to Sevilla and the player- they they will know we're a bit desperate this close to deadline day, and he left Stoke to play CL football, so he will obviously see them as more attractive long term. Saying that, our net spend has been about 0, so we've got the resources. Get the big b*****d in, now.

This would be a great signing, big and strong as as said before totally bossed us a couple of seasons ago. The experience he now has would also be invaluable. Lot of money but still less than the profit we made on Kante so a decent bit of business. Get it done.

Is 25 million really a lot to pay if it means the difference between getting past the first group stages of champions league and falling flat at the first hurdle, or finishing top 4 instead of top 10? Nzonzi could be the spark, that piece of the jigsaw that we're just missing at the moment, if you think of it in those terms the deal pays for itself.

Genuinely feel there is profit to be made if ranieri can work his magic.

EDIT - He's 27, unlikely but possible

He was around £7m one year ago to be fair, but I agree he is worth it in the current market. Somehow, his price has more than tripled without him doing anything particularly special in the meantime.

regards to doing anything special i cant comment dont watch europa league or spanish football.. but he did win the competition and was a regular starter by all means.

He was and he did, although he was a starter at Stoke too. The reason we are paying £25m (assuming we do) is that it's his release clause. He has still got plenty of his contract left to run, and they don't want to sell, didn't they reportedly reject £18m bid from us before? It's a lot, but if he's our guy then we should go for it.

We need another big signing to warm another bench seat.....

N'Zonzi would definitely not be on the bench. Unless Ranieri and his men have suddenly lost the ability to use their brains.
