N'Zonzi would definitely not be on the bench. Unless Ranieri and his men have suddenly lost the ability to use their brains.

There is some evidence of this given our pre-season fixtures :o, in all honesty i really can't see this happening, as much as we need it to. We will not be the only club waving pound notes and we don't seem to be too high on the list of "clubs I want to go to" (Kapustka excepted)

He's what we need.

I think he'd start next to DD week in week out and Mendy, King and Amartey can play the B team cup games and sub in and out where needed.

If Drinks got an injury he could start next to Mendy - exactly what we need to strengthen the starting XI.

I really hope we get this done.

Would be a great signing but I hope we're not wasting our time pursuing him.

Obviously, we're a massive club but Sevilla are a club that win silverware and are in the Champions League.

I just hope we're not wasting precious time on a failed deal when we desperately need another midfielder and there's only a few more days left in the transfer window.

Money talks. The article said "Monaco are also interested in the Frenchman but Leicester are understood to have made preliminary contact with his representatives ahead of a bid." So I presume we sound them out before wasting out time.

Would be a perfect signing IMO

Imagine if Rudkin woke up this morning and thought F**k it, Sevilla here's your 25 million for Steve and PSG here's your 25 million for Blaise.

A midfield 3 of DD, Nzonzi and Matuidi is literally mouthwatering - clearly dreaming though!

I'm sure he will.

But apparently N'zonzi wants to come back to play in England.  If that's true, we have to be in a good position to get him.  Even if Everton are keen (and they will be, if we're interested !), Champions League football should be a big enough carrot.

He was around £7m one year ago to be fair, but I agree he is worth it in the current market. Somehow, his price has more than tripled without him doing anything particularly special in the meantime.

He was in the last year of his contract with Stoke hence the low price, if he had an extra couple of year to run you can guarantee he would have went for at least double the 7m he went for

would be a great signing, we have been after him for a while. would be a lot of money but would add much needed quality and experience to our team

We have a lot of money already and we earn an extra 500k per Champions league point.

Looking at other similar transfers, he's worth 20m IMO.... so all we need is 10 CL points to make up the amount we're paying over

In a world where Pogba was plus £80m and we are in the Champions League I'd say 25m for this guy is a fair price. European experience, premiership experience and it's not easy to come by a good CDM I'm of the inclination that this is not a bad bit of business. Chucking Amartey in Champions League doesn't really give me the belief the team are taking our opportunity to improve seriously.

We need more in midfield.... simple as, Amartey is inexperienced and nothing against King but Nzonzi would be a better player. Sevilla don't want to lose him and we could do with him, let's stop beating round the bush and pay the price!
