Agreed, thought ref tried to set his stall out early to not allow himself to be intimidated by the Italians. Think a genuinely corrupt ref doesn't give Sweden anywhere near as many free kicks as he has done for niggly  fouls and coming togethers.

 

Sweden should definitely have had a penalty though.

On reflection, it’s just an incredibly difficult game to officiate.

 

The ref will really have his work cut out when Italy players start chucking themselves about in and around the box and Sweden, if it remains as it is, time-waste like a boss.

 

The acoustics of the stadium seem weird.

 

It sounds like 70,000 people are saying “hoooosh”, constantly.

Not liking the draw for these qualifiers really. I'd have quite liked Ireland, Sweden, Italy and Denmark to all qualify really. All pretty tidy countries.

 

Bit torn on this one but have to say, if Italy qualify, they're more likely to be entertaining than Sweden who are a bit vanilla in major finals to say the least. Although the inevitable draw and then draw with England will be worth a chortle.

FIFA normally shafts the smaller teams with less TV revenue etc., just hope Sweden don't suffer like both the Irish teams have in recent times. 

 

You have to fancy Italy going through now the ref has shown his ineptitude and inability to apply the rules. 

 

Compulsive watching, can Sweden hold on?

I hate seeing major nations look bang average.

 

Argentina (even though they just made it) Holland and Italy all look pretty crap. 

 

Takes a lot of shine off the World Cup.
