Fox92 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Fed up of seeing these responses. "Oh remember when we lost to Arsenal" "Well we needed a battering" .... "Reality check today" .... What, a reality check 4 games in!?? Aren't we supposed to be Champions of England? We were appalling at Hull and probably lucky to score given it was a penalty (that was outside the area but that's another thing) .... Next away game, today, ok it's going to be tough. Liverpool are a good side, Anfield is a tough place to visit, but what I didn't expect is another appalling performance. Again, we were lucky to score a goal today. Not good enough. I can accept losing (just!) but these performances are what I can't take. Perspective is important, yes, (comments about relegation are stupid btw) but I look at our next away games... Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Tottenham... I'm uninspired man.
The_frozenoak Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 I can handle losing when we give maximum effort, and there's the never say die attitude but both we're seriously missing still today, that's the big worry for me.
Monsell1976 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Has the champions ever been relegated the season after. We got in the habit of winning after the great escape, but with defeat after defeat pre season, our form and confidence looks shot. We look clueless, and look like they have never played together

foxfanazer Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 We were pathetic today. Felt sorry for Vardy watching aimless balls fly over his head. Need another string to our bow
jammie82uk Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 this is the 3rd season now that we have been to Anfield and had a frustrating game, 2 seasons ago we had the "face" penalty with another dubious penalty in that game last season it was about the only game all season we didn't turn up to and perform
foxes_rule1978 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 We won the league because last season we weren't just the best we were better than everyone by miles... it might only be one season but we are Premier League champions and there are only a few sides who can claim that

It's going to be a tough season ...Kante walked and left us in a hole Claudio spent a lot of cash but none of it really comes close to replacing him relax it will get better and we will finish 10th to 14th and we can kick on after that !
lcfc81 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 We need to be careful with this 'champions of England' thing. we will start sounding like Nottingham forest fans, Thinking it gives us a Devine right to something. We've started the season more poorly than perhaps we might like. However it's a long season and we have a good team and good manager, we need to give them time to work it out. I'm sure they are working on it. We've got the champions league to look forward to, a series of games against some of the best teams in the premier league and a decent cup game. Lets relax and see what happens.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Could be worse. Could be losing 4-2 to Watford at home having been 2 nil up. PERSPECTIVE PEOPLE
worksopfox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 We have become too predictable! Teams know how to work us out, especially teams with tactically astute managers. I don't think our summer signings allow us to change our style either!!

PERSPECTIVE PEOPLE Agree about perspective as I said in OP, it's just that both away performances have been shocking now and with Utd, Chelsea, Spurs next it doesn't get easier - Same performance as tonight and at Hull we'll be lucky to get away with not conceding 4 in each of those games.

We were sussed ages ago, but just a lot better at ensuring we did the basics to almost perfection.., scoring when in and no individual errors at the back . That hasn't happened so far this season, Kante also gave us that protection and the confidence for our creative players to do their stuff
nnfox Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 4 games. We've played 4 games! People need to chill! Corresponding fixtures last season would read W1 D1 L2. Jeez, just relax.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 The reality check is that last season we played awful in more than a few games. One of those games was Liverpool away. This is four games in. Get a grip people.
Raj Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Think Slimani will give us another angle and I'm very surprised Kaputska hasn't been given a go. Not really worried...lose to Burnley and I will be!!!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 It is close to kaputska and Slimani now I feel... Kante didn't get a look in for the first few games last season, and it would be bad to just not give players like Albrighton and Shinji a chance after what they achieved last season
One Ranieri Posted 10 September 2016 Posted 10 September 2016 Seen people saying last year was a fluke and every other team was bad...maybe that's it. Or maybe Kante was the heart of that team and the club have sold him to a bigger side without replacing him.

I don't think our summer signings allow us to change our style either!! Claudio talked about having a plan B and C before the season precisely for this reason. Unfortunately there's been no sign of these other plans from preseason, when we should have experimented with different formations, all the way to today. Claudio's tactical nous and ability to change things at half time changed games in our favour last season, but he seems happy now to give Musa a few minutes and the obligatory Ulloa and Shinji swap.

You can't fluke a title, last season was achieved because everyone gave everything in each game to get the best result. We had some luck of course but you don't get anywhere on luck alone. We were organised, horrible to play against and very dangerous when we had the ball. All those were missing today. We didn't do ourselves justice but to write off last season as a fluke is just wrong. This is a different season and we played badly.
