With the investment in the squad over the summer I think the owners will be looking top 6 as a minimum. Slimani at £27 million + was a huge investment plus the new contracts given out to the players during the summer will mean the owners will want to see a return for there money and more European football next season.  It's all about success and being below the top 6 to the owners would be a disappointment I'm pretty sure.

If Danny stays fit and we pick up Adrien Sliva in January, I think we will make top four. If Danny gets injured or we do not get Silva then we can only hope for 5th through 8th.

I voted for 7-11th as I really think this year is harder for a number of reasons, such as ACON and CL and frankly depth of quality, a real test for those on the cusp like Chiswell, Hernandez  and King commitments which has been suggested by many others. I think that would be a pass mark for us coming the best season in club history.  I would not be surprised if we do crack the top 6 or even get back into CL. There is something very special about our club in all aspects from Ownership down. Nothing surprises.

I think Man City will run away with the title.  Liverpool is for real this season, Everton are not going to fall away to far from the top 5 and the we have Man U and the London Clubs, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal who for some reason worries me less than the first 3 I mentioned. we I would suggest are the equals of the London teams and above the likes of West Brom West Ham and the rest.

So a very competitive season ahead.  I really do hope we can contend for Europe again but really won't be to disappointed  by a good mid table finish.

To dream the dream...part II   .Claudio gave us the fans our duties...now carry on..!!

Top 3, until mathmatically impossible. 3 cups up for grabs...

These foxes are not to be denied,

bloodhounds can always chase

then we the fearless turn-about face

history will show our endeavours will be gloryfied.

Its not a few months ago...

I dreamed a dream in the season gone by

When hope was high

and life was worth living

I dreamed this feeling would never die

We dreamed that claudio would come and be giving

Then I was young and unafraid

and dreams were made and used some were wasted

There was no ransom to be paid

On the terraces no songs of joy left unsung

No beer or wine untasted....

Now the wuzzies come at night

With their posts soft as thunder

as they tear one hopes and hearts apart

As they turn your dreams to shame...

Les Miserable are still playing their silly game..

Love it!  Spot on you bard!

7th-10th before we signed Slimani - I'm now inclined to say 5th-6th

The dream is far from dead on arrival, and we look fierce of late. Let's hope we go on a bit of a run here.

Way too early to give a first verdict - can we get back to this in about a month or so?

With all the cup games and Champions League matches somewhat stretching our league fixtures, I'd wait until we've hit late October, early November to pass judgement.

Slimani's just played his first match for us and it remains to be seen how well he does/can do as the season progresses.

It'll also be a stern test for our fitness team and physios: How does the squad deal with injuries and suspensions?

More appropriate to ask after 25 games imo.

Don't worry, I will.

At this point in time (and it IS, agreed, too early to tell), I'm not confident of a top 10 finish. We're off to a mediocre, patchy start and I need to see a few more confident performances before I'd back us for that. I reckon we can do it, and the January transfer window will be interesting, but I'm not yet seeing the consistent spirit in performance that characterised last season.

Don't care as long as we finish above Tottenham! And as long as one of our strikers scores more than GormBoy.

I'd be surprised if one of our strikers didn't. Kane should be out for up to 2 months.

I read this and immediately thought this weekend is a real biggie. Lose and its all doom and gloom and lower mid table mediocrity, beat them and the optimists will have a field day.

I've been saying that 8th since the start of the season. I am not yet convinced we have worked out how to play our formation without Kante being in about 3 different places at the same time.

Would that be a come down after last season? Possibly but then again when you have been raised on watching the vidiprinter through your fingers because Leicester are away at Plymouth its all still good.

the videoprinter used to get stuck halfway through a result, how times change.

It added ......... tension

Honestly think we can finish in a Europa League place at least. Vardy and Slimani will terrorise every single defence we play against and that's without talking about the ability of Mahrez, Gray, Musa etc.
